He is but I believe him when he says it was more a less just a tragic sequence of events. He owed Angel a lot of money, Angel came to them at a time after many times requesting it and then proceeded to get physical when demanding it, and hopped up on whatever one of them cracks him in the head with a hammer and kills him. I believe that was Freeze who did that. And it is in fact the intoxication that got him off. Do I think it was right? No but I do think drugs and their effects all contributed to this tragedy, from the slow degradation of both of the killers' psyches to put them in THAT place at THAT time but the murder was over a drug debt to begin with. Every single thing in this case revolves around drugs and making the biggest mistake anyone could ever make while under the influence. Murder. Whether it's with your car when you're drunk or when you kill somebody in what's arguably self defense at that point, hence first degree manslaughter being the charge vs first or second degree murder. If they were sober it would've been second degree murder. If they planned it in advance, it would've been first degree murder (and they'd still be in jail to this day if either of those things were the charges). I do think he's a narcissist though. But not cold-blooded, if he was cold blooded he might have actually gotten away with it. He was basically screaming "I did it!" in the days following that because of his remorse and terror of getting caught.
