Also wasn't her Dad like the vice president of Enron? A company that went bankrupt after accounting fraud or something like that?

When I watch GoodFellas I look at it as a roller coaster that I would hop off of about 2/3 through if possible. He's living a dude's fantasy, being part of an exclusive criminal club and enjoying a life of effortless riches, status and power. But he ends up making mistakes and losing it all and THAT isn't fun to watch but it's important to remember that Scorsese himself only made that movie because he despises the Mafia, having grown up in a neighborhood full of them. He just makes it look so glamorous, which it is when things are good. But his overarching point is that it's still an evil lifestyle and there's only so many ways out of it -- death, prison or in Henry's case, to become a traitor.

More importantly, they don't want them to know where they live. It's the same reason most drug dealers nowadays insist on delivering to you as opposed to EVER letting you go to their house.

I am pretty sure the fact that he couldn't go anywhere on his livestream on Twitch without someone calling into wherever he was going and saying that he had a bomb. This guy got swatted and had people call in bomb threats with his description a LOT of times and ultimately because of how dangerous that is they were like "Well you can't control your audience, we're not going to let you stream anymore". Not that it justifies what he's done most recently, but that's the real reason he got banned from Twitch I think.

He's actually a really interesting dude once you get past how much of a degenerate he's become. He's almost a bond villain or something in real life.

Martin Scorsese is the master of making movies that are misunderstood on such a grand level to such an extent even I when watching GoodFellas (which I have seen probably 50 times or more) I am pinpointing the exact spots where Henry is making mistakes that I would NEVER have made if given the "opportunity" he had. To his credit he shows everything, the good times, the downfall, and the bad times, but in our minds we enjoy the "good times" and conveniently try to ignore the "bad times". In both GoodFellas and The Wolf of Wall Street, these are antihero stories. The main character in both is a piece of shit, a parasite who enriches himself by hurting others, but somehow still BECAUSE they're the main characters we still find ourselves rooting with and sympathizing with them. It's all a matter of perspective. But at the end of the day, you have to remind yourself that Scorsese is the master of the antihero film and his goal is to make you want nothing to do with the lifestyle IN SPITE OF how cool it all looks during the "good times".

Also like his class probably already graduated so... he's flexing in front of a bunch of people who don't even recognize him. Teachers might remember him that's it.

@cidmatrix9643 Exactly... it could be deduced that she even got like first hand training and information from him insofar as doing all of that. He certainly knew his way around a good fraud case himself.

@finlayson6868 "But his overarching point is that it's still an evil lifestyle and there's only so many ways out of it -- death, prison or in Henry's case, to become a traitor." You missed that part, I guess. Jumped off about 2/3 through the comment. The irony is delicious. I enjoy watching porn as well, in many ways you can say someone getting paid to bone hot chicks could also be a dude's fantasy. Guess in your world that means I want to be a pornstar myself now? Derp a derp. I never said I wanted to join the Mafia. In fact, if anything I suggested the exact opposite. Everyone else had zero problems interpreting the comment. Not you, though. You're special. In the short bus way.

You deserve credit as well for your own role in this guy going down. It was a joint effort basically that involved not just you and people like you working to expose these people but various branches of law enforcement as well. I wouldn't be surprised if in an alternative reality where you didn't do the work that you did, he'd likely still be out and about working his criminal magic. At the very least you raised awareness and helped to expose him, saving unknown numbers of potential victims and who knows how much money in potential losses.
2
Making fake wire transfers if it's part of a confidence scheme (specifically if the fake transfers are meant to trick the victim into giving more money) absolutely 100% does constitute fraud and probably some other crimes as well. This is all federal offense territory. He'll end up doing time in a federal prison when all is said and done as a result of all of this.

College is kind of a scam, though. A necessary evil in scam form, and it didn't always start out that way, but think about it. The translation is: "You want a job that doesn't involve flipping burgers and frying fries? Better come get this piece of paper!" It's less about the "education" you receive and it's more about that piece of paper. It's racket-ish because the price only goes up year after year, and with more people graduating that piece of paper is actually worth less and less in the end. I also think it's racket-ish because it's drilled into every kid who goes to school now's mind that "you're getting the free stuff now but ultimately you're gonna have to go somewhere else for the final four years (at least) and THAT will cost you. Pick well!" The fact is, not every kid who goes to college should be going there. There needs to be an increased priority placed on trade schools and trades in general, again, lest we end up having the smartest yet most useless body of people in the entire world in about two decades.

He knows exactly what he's doing. From that standpoint I kind of don't think he's a good guy at all. I don't think it's his job to be someone's dad and tell them what they can and cannot do, but I would ask himself if he can actually sleep at night after doing these things and if so... how? I think he's definitely a charming individual but so was Ted Bundy.
2
I can't believe he's still alive honestly.
2
It's kind of like The Wolf of Wall Street where this guy got addicted to money and now he doesn't know how to stop, and doesn't care how much it hurts other people. The sad thing is the best thing these victims have to look forward to is his arrest and conviction. He will be ordered to pay restitution as well, which will ensure he dies penniless basically, but for the most part those victims will never get their money back. Especially if he tied up most of his earnings in bitcoin. The guy who created the Silk Road (allegedly) Ross UIbricht has a bitcoin wallets worth millions that the government can't get into.
2
As much as I'd like to say I hope these people get some of their money back once Jay Mazini does finally go down ... sadly, I don't think any of them will ever see that money again. He WILL be ordered to pay restitution but it won't be nearly the amount that he stole and I am pretty sure that he doesn't even get to use any of the money he stole to pay them back in the first place. Some people spend the rest of their lives waiting for restitution, go ask some of the Wolf of Wall Street's victims.
2
They sold 12,000 phones at $2,500 each -- that's $30,000,000 the cops made on the heels of these people who literally sold themselves out unknowingly at the same time
2
Jebara J. Igbara Just rolls off the tongue. I wonder why he'd ever assume an alias? "Mazini Italy" my ass.
1
If he forged a wire transfer that's fraud. Period. He will go to prison over this.
1
@finlayson6868 Clearly I aspire to be just like them. /s What the fuck are you talking about? When did I ever say that?
1
The L disappeared from TLC a long time ago.
1
I think Pixelmon might be onto the greatest scam the internet has ever seen.
1
I won't accept their apology until they bring the old fries back. Seriously though Burger King hasn't been good or relevant in over a decade if not two decades now so who gives a fuck? They knew what they were doing. They tweeted that on International Women's Day KNOWING they would get a whole shitload of grief from people for it, but you know what they say -- "no such thing as bad press". The fact is, I bet the vast majority of their customers are men anyway and they're certainly not known for being the classiest of people. It remains to be seen if this will backfire on them or not. At the end of the day I don't care, I think it was a desperate attempt at shock branding.
1
He should've fled to a country that doesn't extradite to the US. In fact, he probably did try that. I am glad he didn't or otherwise didn't succeed, but yeah when you're dealing in the kinds of crimes he was dealing in it's not just a local police issue anymore, that's when the feds get involved. AKA the FBI.
1
He's gonna find that he ripped off the wrong person, like somebody who's mobbed up or knows somebody who is. He's all over social media and uses his real name, he won't be hard to find if someone really wanted to do so.
1
Robbed at gunpoint? For $18 million dollars? $18 MILLION DOLLARS? A bag with $1 million in 100 bills weighs 22 pounds. That means whoever got robbed was carrying 400 pounds of cash on them at the time. If he thinks that's gonna fly... wow.
1
Pump and dump is like Wolf of Wall Street shit. One of the oldest investment scams in the book
1
I wonder if they're harnessing the power of GPU's from people who play their ridiculous "game" somehow to mine other forms of legitimate crypto hence the "8 hour missions" or whatever bullshit angle that is. I doubt it but that would be pretty nefarious and genius at the same time if possible.
1
Classic exit scam. This is one of the biggest problems with some of these exchanges.
1
lol at Jay Mazini calling anyone else in the world a narcissist. Jay Mazini is the definition of a narcissist.
1
They get away with it because they let the audience do the shaming from the comfort of their own homes. They just give you the visuals and let you arrive at your own conclusion following it.
1
I knew the "this is the last video I am going to be making on Jay Mazini" thing wouldn't last. I just expected the period between that video and this to last like... I don't know, at least a week.
1
Kevin O'Leary isn't SHAMELESS. The character he has created aka "Mr. Wonderful" might be described as ruthless but not shameless. That's one of the things you kind of have to be if you wanna get rich though.
1
It's white collar crime, the biggest criminals in that field are the ones who wrote the laws. He will get some time, but it won't be as much as some people think it is and he'll probably go to one of the cushier prisons as well.
1
I do think the US government is terrified of crypto and are especially afraid people will use it to evade taxes (their biggest fear of all). I don't know how John McAfee ties in with all of that other than he's a high profile user and advocate of crypto, and they're looking to make an example out of him. I think they've been looking for an opportunity to go after him for a long ass time now, though, too.

Coffeezilla go away you're fooling nobody
1
OK, you live in New York Mohammed? I tell you what you're gonna have to do. You need to go and find somebody who is mobbed up (ie in the Mafia) and tell them somebody owes you $3.5 million dollars. Tell them that you just want your money back, and that you'll give them like 20-25% of it if they can recover it for you. This is the kind of guy who isn't afraid of court, he's not afraid of you, he's not afraid to sit down and give you excuses. That's not to say he's afraid of NOTHING, though, like I am very sure if he's presented with the option of losing a finger a week that he fails to pay the money that he'll be more receptive to the entire thing (also they'll likely charge him interest for the inconvenience as well which only goes up each week they fail to pay, but that would go to them, not you, in the end). Everyone wins. Sometimes you have to go outside of the law to achieve the best possible result. Hard to give someone the run around with no kneecaps.

Somebody at Wendy's corporate is designing a cartoon of the titular Wendy kicking the Burger King's ass in a cage match or something. And as she's holding him with his arm behind his head and punching him in the kidney, she's taunting him "Where do I belong again, your highness? Tell me where I belong again one more goddamn time."
1
A wise man once told me that if you don't have any enemies in life, you're not doing it right. Pieces of shit like that aren't worth being friends with anyway.
1
If he was in the Bahamas and was scheduled to speak before Congress the next day, I think it's a very good possibility he was about to try to flee to a country with no extradition or something like that. So it's a good thing they got him when they still could, IMO.
1
Well, the Wolf of Wall Street in real life SHOULD be behind bars. But he's not. If you believe him he's broke now and still paying restitution back. Are you kidding me? That guy had money in offshore accounts all over the world. I guarantee they didn't find it all. But he's still out there and he says he's making millions of dollars a year doing inspirational speeches or whatever and THAT is how he's paying the restitution off, but white collar crime really is punished on a different level than your more normal "run of the mill" crimes.

He got Paradox'd

This is a horrible idea. Some videos deserve dislikes. And some people need those dislikes to realize "Oh OK most people think this is bullshit" or not.
1
Of course promotional material about gambling sites will show THEM winning a ton of money to get people to play like "Oh this looks really easy! Look they're making money by doing it!" but then you actually get on and play yourself and find that you don't have nearly the same experience. They do not keep their lights on on the backs of winners. In fact, casinos both online and IRL HATE people who win too much. They will actually kick you out if you're taking too much from the house but guess who never gets kicked out? The losers. This reminds me a lot of the CS:GO skins gambling sites that were controversial not too long ago. They get affiliates and show them winning thousands of dollars in skins, but then a normal person goes and plays and they end up losing everything.

He's a trust fund kid, I guarantee it. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth most likely. If he doesn't own those vehicles, he's probably just renting them for use in some of his videos. He may genuinely think because he has money after dropping out of high school from real estate or whatever that everyone else's luck will be the same, being too stupid to realize or admit that he got all that money from someone else to begin with. Most likely though he's just your average every day con artist, selling these "courses" off of the image he's carefully cultivating on social media, designed to attract specifically only the younger ones, the dumber ones AND the desperate ones all in one fell swoop.
