@crystalb4694 Yeah because we've seen them do that at every riot in recent memory. The hell are you talking about? China's basically all but said they're about to consider using live ammunition instead of pressurized water cannons and tear gas, rubber shotgun pellets, etc. Batons. The US would do all of those things, too, during riot situations. But they'd never use live ammunition on peaceful protesters. I think if people were shooting arrows at the cops then maybe that would constitute a threat to shoot back at, but beyond that, no shooting their own civilians is something China would probably already be doing if there wasn't so much attention on it right now.

If you think our police are going around killing peaceful protesters every time people riot in this country, though, like... it's clear you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about. They're getting really, really dangerously close to bloodshed at the very least. Once gunshots are fired then it's going to be a human rights issue, among other things. They're going to need support.

That will never happen under Trump. I think the most you're like to get is support from the Americans. They may expedite your visa process, if that's the case, but honestly think about it, would you rather do that or stand up for Hong Kong and fight back? It wouldn't be the first time America has basically intervened when it comes to the interests of Democracy. It's not like we're doing very good relationship wise with China right now anyway.

Why is it the US's job to come fight your battles for you? Maybe if you had more oil deposits or strategic resources we needed we'd consider it, but right now our relationship with China is too good. We need your slaves to make us affordable iPhones, but we are growing more and more disgusted by the way you're treating Hong Kongers. They're not coming here, though. You might should consider live ammuntion after all. (Don't really, by the way, unless you wanna see just how many countries besides the US are horrified by what's happening in HK right now)

@eric4802 People bitch and moan when we do that, though, and Trump's run on a position of trying to like end the conflicts we are in, not take a literal fight to a country he's already in the middle of a trade war with. But now all of a sudden it's like "Oh my our crooked government is out of control you HAVE to come help us!" oh NOW you want help. I doubt you'll get it, sadly. Unless of course an American journalist is killed as collateral damage or something during the protests, or maybe just outraged they'd use live ammo on peaceful protesters at all. Bows and arrows and rocks and petrol bombs aren't traditionally considered "peaceful" though. If it does happen make sure it's filmed, capture horrific enough images and video is my advice because it's gonna have to get really bad for us to get involved, and we'll likely not come alone. I doubt it though.

You do know who is our president, right? The US isn't coming. Not personally. The best you'll get are maybe guns, ammo and kevlar but secretly. Sadly this is something you have to do. They have guns. You don't. I don't know what you're planning on fighting them with, and to be clear this is one of the main reasons we will never amend the 2nd Amendment (the right to bear arms/guns) because if your government ever decides to lose its goddamn mind you aren't going to be able to defend yourself properly if all you have are rocks and petrol bombs.

@kyneo2441 I guess it just doesn't matter as much if only because Iran has kind of always been doing shit like that whereas China we've had a reasonably warm relationship since Nixon with, it's been very much of economic interest to us, but at the end of the day it's a communist nation. It's really shown the hypocrisy of communism as well, considering it's become more capitalistic in China than they'd ever like to admit. Well, those with money, and the entire idea that in a communist nation there are richer people and poorer people at all is evidence that it doesn't work. We'll never see eye to eye. If Democracy is what Hong Kong wants I'd encourage Trump to do everything in his power to help them.

If your development was a threat to us, why are so many Hong Kongers begging to be let in to America right now? It's just been convenient to us that we basically quietly profit from your country's slave labor, or else iPhones would cost like $5,000 or something. It's a mutually beneficial relationship so far, but probably won't last forever. That has nothing to do with our prospects of intervening against China NOW for Hong Kong. It's just not happening anytime soon.

They're not doing it because they love you so much, they're doing it because they're desperate not to be integrated into the Hellish system that is your social stratosphere in China. There's a reason they had to put suicide nets around all of the factories. Let me tell you, it's because they're completely satisfied with being exploited for slave labor. We were a powerful country when we had slaves, too. And we still are, we just haven't had slaves for 170 years or so. Everything I've seen about it so far though shows your police being extremely brutal, they're just responding to brutality with brutality. I can't believe this is such a shocking concept for you to grasp. BTW your president really does look Winnie the Pooh, kind of like Trump looks like an orangutan. Someone died during the protests itself, one person, but they weren't killed by cops. So from that standpoint, you should get YOUR facts straight, you keyboard warrior fuck.

@videosdinder4870 Yeah well that was also different, there was mass looting and people were literally killing each other. Also, yeah, we actually have guns here, some of the protesters were engaging in firefights with cops. It's within the rights of law enforcement to shoot back if being shot at. Also yeah like Waco that's considered a sour note in history, besides those riots were racially motivated. You don't have the slightest idea of what racially motivated conflict is in China, when everyone in China is fucking Chinese. But yeah, riots are riots. Most of the deaths during that particularly awful riot were at the hands of the rioters themselves, another reason the police stepped in with deadly force. Do understand the difference between peaceful protest and the fucking LA riots. Apples and oranges. As far as Ferguson itself, though, one person died during the protests IIRC but it wasn't due to law enforcement. At any rate it's never state sponsored killing, if cops use force unjustly in this country they will be charged and prosecuted for it. If they're deemed to have used force justly, they're not prosecuted. It's far from what they're mulling in China right now where Beijing will give the OK to use lethal force and there will be no due process as a result whatsoever. THAT is the difference. We've never had a case of peaceful protest where the government has authorized lethal force.

@crystalb4694 Molotov cocktails and bricks are commonplace during US riots. The only difference is bow and arrows, but honestly, I think there's a huge tonal difference in what's underlying what's happening in Hong Kong right now vs. the mood in any other riot that you could conjure up, from Ferguson to the LA Riots of the 90's. The people in Hong Kong essentially are sick of being Chinese and they're a few organizational steps away from beginning the process of seceding, or they'd like to anyway, it's just they don't have anything they can reasonably fight back with EXCEPT for bows and arrows. We've not had any Civil War-esque riots in the US since the mid 1800s but I mean one day we'll likely get that pissed (maybe when Trump loses and/or wins 2020, God forbid though) that we'll be bringing legitimate weapons to the riot like guns of which we have no shortage of. At that point it's more the beginning of a Civil War than a riot, though. Also yeah if the government was actively floating (publicly, mind you) they were about to begin using live ammunition, that wouldn't make me more likely to put my bow and arrow away. To the contrary. If it's all I have to defend myself, it's going nowhere. So yeah, it'll get worse before it gets better, sadly.
