At least he's being honest, I mean it's kind of like asking a heroin addict "Why would you ever put yourself in that position to get addicted to damn heroin?" and most of them would say "I didn't wake up one day and be like 'oh wow, I'm gonna go out and become a heroin addict today'." It never happens that way. It happens by accident, usually through something else and it's all just a "path" there. In his case, it fell into his lap because his Dad was such a high ranking guy. Similar to The Godfather's plot, he kind of HAD to pick up the reins because he was the best one in a position to do so. But it was like a family business sort of thing, I don't know that he'd have intentionally have sought out the Mob. To be a mobster in this day and age though, the golden age is over. The government is more advanced and powerful in their ability to catch crooks than ever before.

@shabutir1820 Nah, plenty of people were prescribed Oxycontin pills for instance by their doctors thinking "Oh, it's prescribed! By my doctor! No harm, no foul!" They take their script, and get addicted. Then they go back and if their doctor is scummy he may give them more. Before long, though, that doctor will cut them off because they're now exhibiting "drug seeking behavior". So what do a lot of these new addicts do? They switch to heroin. Of all the people who are currently using heroin, I would estimate about 70% of them were prescription pill addicts before they were heroin addicts. The modern heroin and fentanyl epidemic is composed primarily of people that fall under these parameters. I get it, in your world all the heroin addicts in the world woke up one day and are like "Fuck yeah! I'm gonna become a HeRoIn AdDiCt today! Try and stop me, mom! Fuck you, dad!" If that's the way you think it works then you're a fucking moron.

"Who cares we'll figure out it out latah for the American people when we beat Trump in 2020!" Not a single candidate in the Democratic field has a snowball's chance in Hell to beat Trump for a variety of reasons. I will outline them all if you'd like to hear but the first we'll talk about is incumbent's advantage. They win 90% of the time, all this at a time where Donald Trump's approvement level is at an all time high as long as you aren't getting your information from socialist echo chambers like MSNBC and CNN. Do not fool yourselves. And the impeachment was the worst possible thing you could've done when said other candidates were trying to run their goddamn races. That monopolized all the media coverage for months. A pointless endeavor from the beginning. No, Dems lose 2020. Get ready for 2024 instead, is my advice, this Democratic stable of candidates is fucking embarrassing.

I don't think anybody but the person who killed Hoffa, if he's even still alive, and/or the people who got rid of the body know where he is. And from the sound of it, he's suggesting Hoffa got dumped into the ocean Big Pussy style. I guess that's a good way to get rid of a body, if you can weigh it down, you go to a certain part of the ocean by the time it washes up anywhere (if ever, again, cause of the weights) he'd have decomposed so much the only way they'd be able to identify him is via dental records OR his hands/fingerprints. Most contract killers remove both hands and the person's head before disposing of the body for that reason. Mexican drug cartels use acid frequently, but that's another conversation altogether.

@jujitsuman68 Yeah, which explains all the people getting hooked on them. Legally. Then having the metaphorical rug pulled out from under them. Other times people get them off the street one way or another. It's harder now than it used to be but from like 2000-2010 especially in places like Florida you were literally able to go down the street stopping at various doctors and pharmacies and pick up like hundreds if not thousands of pills, most for sale but also generally to feed their habits as well. This all ended when the federal government cracked down on OxyContin in particular, causing the formula to be changed (which hurt legit pain patients) but prevented addicts from crushing and snorting or injecting them like they were, so basically BECAUSE of these "legal drug dealers" that's why the heroin epidemic truly began in earnest around 2010 when the formula for OxyContin changed. People who were addicted to the pills either faced the agony of 5-7 days (at least) of withdrawal, to get on a maintenance drug like Suboxone or Methadone, or, you know, switch to a different opiate. Like heroin. That's where this all came from. That's all I am saying. See the sources above for more info. Dickhead.

Yep. And the old Mafia guys mostly moved into legitimate businesses, so if they're doing any kind of crime it's just graduated to white collar crime. The days of street level organized crime are numbered if you ask me.

He's absolutely right about GoodFellas. Most people who watch that only seem to remember the masterful intro part where it shows him as a kid and his aspirations of joining the mob leading up to actually becoming an associate, part of an actual crew with Jimmy Burke and Tommy DeSimone. It shows some of the horrifying parts but it does a great job of showing it through the doe-eyed lens of a kid becoming a young man, seeing these guys who seemingly have it all and wanting it for himself. I legitimately think most people watch GoodFellas and think to themselves "If I was Henry Hill, I would've done this differently or that differently -- wouldn't have gotten into the drugs" but that was just the way HE went down, there's so many ways you can meet your demise via death or prison when it comes to the mob. People would do well to remember the ENTIRE movie, not just the good parts. Remember the bad. That's the only reason Scorsese made the movie.

I think it's almost a meme now, EVERYONE killed Hoffa. EVERYONE knows what REALLY happened to him. And by that I mean it's just a running joke now almost. By the way The Irishman wasn't that good. Easily Scorsese's weakest Mafia film. I would say his weakest film but that title belongs to New York, New York IMO. The Irishman was too fucking long, mainly, beyond that they shouldn't have cast DeNiro. Al Pacino was fantastic in the movie. Joe Pesci was also great if not somehow slightly more believable than DeNiro's character because Pesci's character was SUPPOSED to be older. Casting DeNiro was a mistake.

@mahamedaden7237 Yeah it's crazy how much changed in a year... honestly if it wasn't for coronavirus though I still think Trump would've won. I mean, even with coronavirus he still almost won. It was close enough they actually were able to request recounts in some states and get them. Oh well, I am happy he lost though nowadays.
