Sadly people who are legitimately insane can't even be held responsible for their actions, not the same way they would be legally if they were of sound mind. He still murdered someone, sure, but he's more likely to go to a psychiatric institution to do his time instead. All the defense has to do is enter the interrogation and everything else into evidence while they began to build their insanity defense.
