  3. Yeah man, I heard actually that on top of being great musicians they were also SMART. Like, one of the members of the band went to MIT which is renowned as perhaps the finest engineering school in America (maybe even the world) and he designed his own effects boxes and even built a recording studio or something like that. But yeah Boston's tone is legendary.

  4. When you can tell the song just from a drum fill, or especially if it's one of those songs that starts with a drum fill, you know you're talking about a classic. A masterpiece, even. It's not easy to come up with memorable drum fills but when it does happen it's magic.

  6. Oh it's because it has a certain chord progression? There's so many songs that use the same chord progressions. Tons of videos on that very thing. It can't be that easy to sue someone. But yeah even if it was a case of legitimate plagiarism, her lawyers are way more expensive and way more powerful than whoever the person suing has.

  9. I know for a fact that there are abusive coaches of all kinds. Some of them it's like... part of the program, like their reputation precedes them, and the only reason they get away with it is because THEY HAVE ACHIEVED RESULTS by doing it (although I will say like... the line is definitely drawn usually at assault and beyond, THAT probably doesn't happen, but verbal and emotional abuse? Absolutely). It's likely extremely difficult to get in, and when you do it's probably extremely easy to get thrown out. He demands nothing but absolute perfection and you're 100 times more likely to hear negative criticism before you ever get positive feedback. It's almost like you're privileged to be in his presence, not the other way around. He knows people are afraid of him and that's exactly the way he likes it, but his record of uninterrupted success speaks for itself to such an extent he'd basically have to do something like strike a student to have a chance at being fired, and even then the school will probably beg the student to reconsider their position on it and to not call the cops if they hadn't already, etc. It's not easy to find coaches like that.

  10. I don't think he ever intended to actually sue her. If you look at the song in question, according to an article I just read about it that was written in 2019, the song went from 300 listens/views to over 260,000 just in the period of time after he threatened to sue her. Kind of a bottom-feeding strategy considering I think it rubbed most of the people, including these new people who listened to it the first time, the wrong way. If it was meant to drive sales or interest in him, I don't think it did, he just most likely attracted a bunch of people who wanted to see if it was actually a case of plagiarism or not. And frankly if you think about how progressive and strange the song overall that this unknown guy wrote was, it's telling that the best sounding part of it is the part he's accusing them of having stolen from him. Also, again going back to the "it only had 300 listens beforehand" thing. That would mean she was one of the 300 listens I guess. She's out there perusing and stealing from all sorts of strange sources. No the fact is there's 12 notes on the scale and you can combine them in a variety of ways. It's incredible that there's as much variety in music as there is, but no people are bound to end up sounding similar sometimes. Sometimes it's actually theft, but other times it's just a side effect of the beautiful limitations of music as we know it.

I guess it is country music at heart but I think of it more as being pop music at this point, the kind of song you might hear at the ice skating rink like 50 times and you know the song by heart but don't know what it's called. (But can probably guess based on the chorus being "Feels like Carolina")
