I stopped watching his show because it was just too fake for me. I don't know what the hell happened to him. He was less obnoxious about it back when he was on Late Night prior to hosting the Tonight Show. I actually think it started out as him wanting to do the best job he possibly could so he didn't become another Conan or whatever but now that he's achieved such success like out of nowhere he's legitimately the happiest guy in the world. So he doesn't have to pretend or anything. I still dislike him, he's way too flattering with the guests. I remember the night I stopped watching, I was already rolling my eyes at the show but the night Honey Boo Boo was on and (as always) "he's the biggest fan!" and "he can't get enough of it!" and "he's seen every episode!". I mean these late night shows aren't just for your entertainment as a viewer, they serve an important role in the machine that is the entertainment industry. It offers the artists or whatever a platform to promote their product, and that's just the way it is. If it didn't do that, we wouldn't have these shows. Anyway, I was more a Letterman guy but Kimmel is good, as well. Conan's pretty decent too. (I don't know what happened to Colbert other than he lost the rights to his character). But yeah, if you were to tell me he was going to be the Tonight Show host in the early Late Night years or so I would've laughed in your face. He probably would have, too.
