@greggstrasser5791 Well, yes and no. At the time we needed the USSR to defeat Germany. Yes, the USSR committed far more atrocities than Germany did and this is something that has been effectively swept under the rug for the most part at least historically speaking. But do I think the Allies would've been able to defeat the Nazis without the USSR? Not really. Nor could they have defeated the Germans without America. It's hard to say but really at the end of the day, Adolf's tactical decisions were really the true reason we won that conflict at the end of the day. Otherwise, chances are quite good we'd be speaking German right now.

@Bradgilliswhammyman WW2 was the last important war that America was involved in that absolutely, unequivocally and categorically had to be fought. It just did. Beyond that, every other war America has been involved in has been pointless unless we're talking about America's involvement in Ukraine which is basically a proxy war at this point. We are technically already at war with Russia whether we realize it or not which is why we've been so quick to give Ukraine weapons and money and support under the table, God knows what other way we've been helping them. But as worried as I am about Russia, no other country on Earth scares me for the future than China right now. Not a matter of if but when they invade Taiwan, the world will change overnight.

Russia claims they're invading Ukraine to denazify it. And there IS quite a large movement of white supremacists in Ukraine, that IS true, but the real reason Russia is attacking them is because they are afraid that they will join NATO and the reason for it is geographical in nature. Whoever controls Ukraine basically controls the front AND back door into Europe. It also has a really large amount of natural resources, specifically natural gas which Ukraine isn't really capable of harvesting on it's own. Russia also wants access to their pipelines so they don't have to pay fees to transport oil through the country like they are now. Without oil, Russia would be starving. Russia is also threatening much of Europe which depends on its oil to cut it off which would have a devastating effect on Europe as we know it, whether it's winter and they need energy for heat among other things or summer and they need it to run AC and keep things relatively cool. We haven't even come close to seeing the full brunt of the war. Chances are pretty high that it will devolve into a nuclear war unless they are extraordinarily careful.

@himabimdimwim I may have but I am not sure. I will definitely check it out. But mark my words, Taiwan is where WW3 will officially, well and truly begin.
