  1. He had cancer for nearly 10 years and suffered in silence. He didn't want people to know. That's similar to the way David Bowie handled it as well. He didn't want people to treat him differently, or to look at him differently, because it's true the second people learn that you more or less know when your expiration date is, in a lot of cases they begin to treat you like you're already gone.

  2. drakenette13 makoukou is right, Eddard made a promise to Lyanna right before she died in a bed soaked with her own blood (presumably from childbirth) -- we don't know what the promise is, all we know is that he made the promise. If Robert knew Jon had Targaryen blood, even if it was partially his best friend's sister's child, he'd have killed Jon. Eddard did what he did to protect Jon.

  4. He's not the only one, Tyrion used to be a smart guy then he's like "Let's go kidnap a zombie to convince my sister they're real so she'll do the right thing as she always does and lend a helping hand, then we can go make smores after". That's just one example.

  6. ***** I actually didn't remember that. Wow. But I think the main thing is he despised Rhaegar for kidnapping Lyanna, which somehow lead to her death. As far as not wanting any Targaryen's around just in general, that would be seen by some (and is seen by some) as a legitimate challenger to his rule. Perhaps it was because it was a Targaryen woman marrying a Baratheon man, it didn't matter as much, such as the whole Sansa Stark being betrothed to Joffrey even while Robb is in open rebellion against the Westerlands didn't matter. shrug

  8. In the final episode of Season 2 when they're singing "Some Broken Hearts Never Mend" the boots she's wearing are stunning. And I am a dude. I don't normally notice things like that. One thing that show really nails besides everything, honestly, is hammering home the idea that the Gemstone kids are unconscionably materialistic and that includes having nice clothes, cars and jewelry etc. So it does make sense. I also suspect each of the actors were given a lot of freedom in every aspect of the character including their dress, etc.

  9. It's one of those things like he's not just a good looking guy but he's an incredibly talented actor, too. I am not too familiar with actual like David Koresh recordings or whatever but IMO he absolutely nails the charismatic aspect of what these religious like borderline televangelists are all about. I know the show was criticized because it showed him in a more sympathetic light, I disagree with that because I think it showed him at his absolute most manipulative worst and we just interpreted it as sympathy for the character. If you pay attention it shows how he was able to sink his teeth into these people so well, and during times of peace he's not just able to keep them but also to attract more as well. I do think if they were left alone they'd likely still be there to this day, but essentially what the guy was doing was creating slaves out of them and for the most part he was doing it entirely legally. That's probably the main reason they chose Texas as their base of operations.

TBH what should've happened is either a) Drogon shows up, destroys the Iron Throne, then turns his gaze on Jon's stupid ass who's still just there waiting to be arrested or whatever, and draw in another breath to kill him too, but not until Jon Snow lunges at it just in time to stab him right down the gulet, then carve backwards opening the Dragon's neck and killing it, but Jon himself dies again too. Incinerated, burnt to a crisp. OR b) Drogon does what he did in the show, bounces up outta there with his Mama, but Jon Snow's hands are bloody from the Queen's murder, and it's obvious someone just died there, and they quickly put together that it was her lover Jon Snow who murdered her right there. IRL Grey Worm and his men would've charged him immediately, they didn't just look at her as a fairweather Queen, she was a GOD to them. And yes I do agree, she should've gone mad, she should've been the twist villain at the end as it is very much in your face at the very least when you learn it's not just her as a Targaryen, he is too. And knowing Targaryens have a 50% chance of going insane, and knowing that they're actually both Targaryens and the differences between them are night and day, like it's just obvious she was on a path to becoming the Mad Queen if she wasn't already way earlier on. The idea that the Unsullied just waltz in and he's like "I killed her" and they're like "Very well, we will imprison this man until his trial!" is just completely out of character for this emotionless army driven entirely by duty and nothing else, they'd see their Goddess murdered and then not kill the man immediately who did that, and deal with the aftermath later. Cause let's be real, the North after all they've been through vs the Unsullied it wouldn't even be close. I can't believe Grey Worm didn't stake a claim as King in this new land now that Dany was gone. God the writing was just retarded this season.

I gotta hand it to Seth Myers in a great sea of all the late night hosts who were doing coverage of Game of Thrones in the years that show was the biggest show on TV in the world, he struck me not only as one of the more knowledgeable but some of his skits were the best revolving around that. Like Game of Jones with Leslie Jones, and dinner party with Jon Snow, that sort of thing. I just hope that Better Call Saul ends better than Thrones did. My God that was bad.

  13. I know it's not Seth Meyers' fault, the state of late night TV as a whole. Even Conan before leaving for HBO for whatever reason ditched the suit in the final year or two. But now everyone is doing it? Conan said it best in an interview I believe on Howard Stern that one of the greatest traditions of late night comedians was the idea that they dressed immaculately, in suits and all, and it was the ultimate foil to the silliness they were getting into. Nobody is wearing suits anymore. Next thing you know they'll be showing up to record their shows wearing pajamas or board shorts.

  14. It's meant to be a mix of snow and ash. A Song of Ice and Fire. It hearkens back to to reports during the Holocaust that it would appear to be Wintertime year round in the vicinity of the extermination camps because they were constantly incinerating bodies. The only thing that gave it away obviously was the time of year, the temperature, and the fact occasionally you'd see little tufts of hair floating down, but by and large the German people even in spite of figuring out something bad was going down pretty late in the war didn't realize the full extent of it until it was completely finished. It was meant to be a secret project but of course you can't hide the ash from that, or the tufts of human hair falling from the sky, either. It was too late for anyone but the other side to do anything at that point.
