It's just sad that California is one of the most taxed if not the most taxed states to live in, and they still have problems like this. Where is the money going? But that's basically the natural response for people who have the money and resources to do it in the first place, if you aren't getting your needs served by the services you pay taxes for, you have to supplement it with private service instead. I think it's gonna run into problems not just from a liability standpoint (like if the private ones get in the other guys way or vice versa) but there's almost more of an impetus for the firefighters to successfully extinguish the fire if they're being paid by an individual personally and to protect only the one property. But realistically speaking, they're probably going to have more than one client in a given threatened area. There's no way they'll be able to save them all. Unless it's stipulated in the contract that having us as private firefighters isn't even necessarily a guarantee, either, what we can guarantee is all our resources will be dedicated to protecting you, your family, and your home though. But even still there's gonna likely be some lawsuits.
