  1. 2020 is going to be the year we remember where everything truly changed for the United States of America. Around 1994 is when I think you can really start to begin seeing the shift in policing from typical like "Boys in blue; the old protect and serve" to actually resembling something more akin to a military power. The militarization of the police, to me, directly contradicts what public service members should look like in what's supposed to be a free and democratic society. What will we look like in 20 more years? It's terrifying to think about.
