I mean, not for nothing but if you get caught breaking and entering into someone's car AND steal an item worth $600 (or worse still, a litany of items that are valued at over $1000 or whatever) you're not just gonna be getting probation for that. Of course it all depends where you're from I guess, but I will say this that technically speaking if you get caught pirating movies or anything really, yeah, you're screwed. But I honestly think they put the numbers so high in those FBI warnings as more of a deterrent than a "we're actively seeking you out to impose these fines and penalties on you". The problem with piracy is so widespread that if they were able to catch everyone, we'd all be living in cardboard boxes or tallying up how many days if not years we have left on the inside of a cell block in some random federal penitentiary, anywhere in the country that has enough room to take you (as of right now, intellectual property piracy is a federal crime).
