I've seen Requiem for a Dream probably like ten or twenty times over my life. So not one of those movies I would only watch once then digest it the rest of my life, but I can see why other people might feel that way about it. I have some problems with that movie for starters the idea that NYC would EVER just be "out" of dope causing them to "starve" for it the way they did, it's false. A big city like that, someone always has it or knows how to get it. YOUR dealer may get killed, that's true. YOU may only know how to get in touch with like one or two other people to get it, but the idea that the city is just flat DRY? False. They have enough dope even if all the poppy plants were to be eradicated today to supply ALL of the world's current addicts for 20 years. BUT RFAD is not meant to be viewed that way anyway, it's not fiction or non-fiction, it's a fable. In other words, a cautionary tale.
