Bill Ding Ah, snap man, sorry to hear you're back on again, but I know how hard it must be... one of my good friends from high school was on it, along with Xanax and who knows what else, and it also started with pills. Nowadays that's the story it seems like 99% of people who are on these programs seem to share. The pills. The extent of the problem is so far beyond the scope of understanding of most people, too, like the ones who aren't affected by it personally. It's just crazy.

rdizzy1 That's absolutely correct, I have tried explaining that to people before but so many of them their eyes glaze over when you start talking "half life" etc but yeah that's why it's such a great medication as far as dealing with opiate addiction, however that long half life is also the reason that a full detox from Suboxone (even if one tapered beforehand) lasts so long. It's longer and more drawn out but more gentle than a full on Heroin detox, whereas Heroin due to it's shorter half life has a more intense, violent withdrawal that lasts only a few days versus ... well, like weeks in some cases depending on where the user chooses to jump off. Most people will probably stay on it indefinitely, even the rest of their lives.

I'd be super careful buying something like that from a wholesaler, no offense to India online vendors or anything but... you know, scams do happen. All the time.

Bill Ding I mean I am just basing it off what I've heard, to be honest. I only lived in the Northeast for a few years, and I wasn't even in NY, I was in Jersey close to Philly. Anyway I wasn't using gear, either, I had friends who did though. That and I think I remember reading in some Kurt Cobain documentary how he always loved going to NYC because their dope was the best. It also doesn't shock me to hear that it's bad in some parts, or even most nowadays, I mean in an unregulated market they're likely stomping it into oblivion in most cases...

rdizzy1 It's a shame that people have to buy sub off the street, even if you got a legit dealer he's still almost certainly ripping you off at $10, $15 or $20 per sub. With health insurance being taken away from so many people shit's about to get worse.

Without insurance, yeah, and even with insurance depending on what kind of insurance you have it's gonna cost varying amounts. I know a guy who got 60 a month with his insurance for THIRTY BUCKS. So my advice to you is to seriously consider getting insurance even if you have to pay for it nowadays, if it means you can get your medicine for cheaper then it may be more worth the cost. That and you'll be covered for other medical emergencies and stuff as well.

rdizzy1 Oh, well you're right about that. I would actually say given the subculture surrounding drugs in general that most people who get into illicit substance abuse and then get addicted and later get prescribed suboxone or methadone PROBABLY got it off the street first. You learn how to be an addict pretty fast once you get addicted.

By the way, the USA is absolutely in the throes of a terrible epidemic when it comes to opiates. We have the pharmaceutical industry and drugs like OxyContin manufactured by Purdue Pharma Co. to blame for that, in large part. And then when they reformulated those drugs to prevent abuse, what did people do? Switch to Heroin. Which a lot of people took up the needle for, exclusively, some out of necessity and some who simply didn't want to "waste their money" by smoking it. This is why as a society we MUST insist that there be needle exchange programs, starting with the hardest hit areas first. When needles get involved it becomes that much more of a societal problem, because it facilitates the spreading of serious, serious diseases like HIV/AIDS and Hep-C, among other things. With the drug problem being this widespread, too, you don't even need to be a drug user or a needle user to be exposed to it. Your boyfriend or girlfriend could be doing it behind your back, or could HAVE done it before you, or both. They could literally have it and have no idea or even have the inclination to go get tested. It's gonna get a lot worse before it gets any better. And regardless of your position on drug legalization, the idea that people are gonna be less inclined to use drugs because they have no access to needles is beyond absurd. They're just creating a black market for needles, which you oftentimes have no idea the full history of, and artificially inflating the price of what would otherwise cost pennies on the dollar. It's a hair away from being completely out of control -- educate yourselves, people.

sorry to hear that man... I heard there was a way to cure it now, actually, which is great. There was a short time I felt like I might even have it myself, back when I was using. Thank God I dodged both bullets, first HIV (the big one) and then I found out after more blood work that I didn't have Hep either. But I just as easily could have! But yeah again from what I understand there is a permanent cure to it now. It works for 95% of the population, it says.

Thanks to the miracles of modern medicine I think one day we can add this to the list of diseases that are treatable in the form of actually CURING it. It's so important...

He never claimed it was anything other than his actions that led* (dumbass) to his contraction of the disease. He never said God had anything to do with it -- nothing except for gracing him with the fortune that in spite of his diagnosis he's not had any problems with his liver. Meaning that in spite of your shitty insistence he's not suffering much, yet. And may you burn in hell one day from the day he does, wishing pain and suffering on other people. What the fuck is wrong with you?

There is, which is great news for people who have Hepatitis C. The only problem with it is it's prohibitively expensive. $100 thousand dollars, last I checked. I imagine it will become more affordable though in time.
