Veterinarians have the highest suicide rate (or one of the highest suicide rates) of any professions. It's a strange issue, they don't get paid enough and they are subjected to some of the saddest things every single day. Watching animals come in sick until they're dead a few years later, and the cycle continues. Over and over and over again. And then you see how heartbroken the people are and in worst case scenarios the people probably even blame the vets even though it's truly not their fault most of the time.

@Alexandra_Wolf My Dad is also a doctor and my entire life he didn't even recommend myself or any of my siblings become doctors saying "the golden age is over". He saw socialized healthcare coming and warned us basically doctors won't be well paid when it happens. Turns out, they are still well paid even though he was right that Obamacare or whatever did happen. Of course, that's not even really socialized healthcare. Not truly anyway.
