  1. These guys have SERIOUS balls. Like, it's borderline crazy in fact. Labor camps are what the NK government do to you if you are lucky, from what I've heard. Their prison camps are arguably worse than the Holocaust's camps.

The guy that founded VICE, Shane Smith, has another great documentary he did around the same time as this where he actually is able to pay somebody in China to smuggle him into North Korea and he actually keeps a secret camera on him for parts of it. If he got caught doing that, he'd probably still be held there against his will TODAY. Very, very stupid thing to do but you know what he's that calibre of investigative reporter. Thank God for people like him because without them, we'd have very little idea what is going on in North Korea. If you look around there's plenty of them though. NK may be the most interesting country in the world (in a very scary way).

  3.  @Sosa40706  Labor camps are the actual theme of the video series itself. "They can get sent to labor camps" they already WERE sent to labor camps.

  4.  @slitheryboi1013  Yeah it explains the situation pretty well in this video series. Basically it's considered a privilege even to get work camp vs the gulag. I think some go who owe a debt and they'll go for like ten years and they're there pending good behavior, and the threat is that something will happen to their families if they don't comply so they basically enlist themselves as slaves effectively for a set period of time but they know their families are being taken care of as part of the trade -- and would be harmed if the deal is ever violated.

  5.  @edbenti5007  Fired =/= the Gulag. It does suck to lose your prestigious job at Wal-Mart I guess but I guarantee it'd be worse for people in NK. where there are no Wal-Marts only slave internment camps all the way up on to the death camps soviet/nazi style. Hooray!
