Comments by "voteZDLR" (@voteZDLR) on "How Mental Illness Derailed the Career of a Promising Young Skateboarder" video.
I don't think anyone ever suggested they just abandoned him. All these comments. Jesus. They probably do go chill with him. Try to skate. You know, whatever they can. But if you watched the documentary he was robbed of a lot when this particular thing hit him. Not just mentally, it also did effect his ability to skate.

@michaelwilliams6431 It is rare yeah but for example they say people with schizophrenia (and I mean really, REALLY bad cases of it) shouldn't smoke weed. But beyond that it's fine. It's nothing to do with the plant itself, it's not the drug's fault as much as it is the person has a pre-disposition to having mental breakdowns and just inherently already struggles with mental illness to begin with. That sort of thing.

***** Yeah, that's why you don't "come out of the mental health closet" with anyone except for your doctor. Or people you really, really trust, but that's like being a drug addict almost, if you have a problem like that -- keep it to yourself. Because the problem is people are always going to assume you're on something if you admit you have a drug problem to ANYBODY, even if you're completely clean and sober. Telling society you have mental issues is about the dumbest thing you can possibly do, especially if you really have them.

***** Sucks to hear, man... That's a huge fear of mine is that I acquire some sort of phantom illness that can't be determined, let alone treated. Kurt Cobain had something similar to that, which he claims is one of the biggest reasons he started using Heroin. He didn't need a diagnosis anymore for his chronic stomach problems -- the treatment was in the narcotic painkiller he began taking, even at the risk of looking like a rock and roll cliche, but ironically Heroin took his pain away, medically speaking, for the entirety of the time he was allowed to take it. Until the negative side of the addiction thing started taking hold, that is.
