I know a guy who moved down to Merida, Mexico like 10 years ago as an American because apparently that's a popular place for Americans to expatriate too. Cheap everything, including property, etc. Also it was supposedly where the Cartel kept their own families in a lot of cases and thus it was insulated a lot from the violence. I have no idea what it's like today.

@Chale1288 Funny you mention that cause the guy I was talking about just got murdered there. No, it's not "officially" a murder but then again this is corrupt as fuck Mexico we're talking about. The dude lived in a factory that was converted to beyond a mansion, a compound, and next thing you know he gets cancer, devises plan to leave the country to go get treatment in the states if not move back altogether, and then next thing you know he's dead and his body is cremated the same day. All from a guy who wished to have his body buried, considering he obviously came from money and had the means to have a burial that would cost more than someone whose body was unceremoniously tossed with no autopsy. All from the grand old state of Merida in none other than Mexico. Merida is safe for people who are from drug lords families. Gringos on the other hand? Beware. Believe it or not the man was most likely murdered and then the evidence was destroyed before an autopsy could be performed. SuPeR sAfE!

@Chale1288 What do you want the dude's name? Dan Karnes. His family is in touch with a Mexican attorney as we speak to get to the bottom of what really happened to him. The belief is he was murdered by someone out there. I've been to Merida several times. I am not just "making stuff" (BTW it's "making stuff up" in case you don't like representing yourself like an illiterate fuck everywhere you go on top of being ignorant). He converted a factory into a compound in Merida and I've been there a few times. They got rid of the body before an autopsy could be conducted in spite of his death wishes which don't amount to shit in a country like Mexico. He wanted to come back to get treatment for this "cancer" he had but mysteriously died before he had a chance to. @Chale1288 I literally just told you the name of the person. It's fine if you don't believe me at my word, but you can literally look up his obituary online. I know you won't because you're content to be ignorant and it proves you wrong. It's fine.
