  2. Truth! From an Americans standpoint (or any other developed nation) it would seem a fate perhaps worse than Hell itself to live in such an impoverished nation, and yet they seem happier than a lot of people I've met in what are "better" countries. Materialism isn't everything, clearly.

Maybe not themselves, but the pharmaceutical corporations are absolutely having Afghanistan opium shipped in by somebody so they can make prescription painkillers. I mean the fact they are so strict about you not wandering off and only seeing what you're meant to be seen surely is all the proof in the world that people would need to realize they are hiding SOMETHING. Most of the people in that country never get to go skiing. Most of them are dying in poverty or what's basically slavery
