  2.  @stentor1980  You said that it's against the law to defend your home with lethal force. THAT isn't true, it depends on the state. In my state, the only stipulation is I can't shoot you in the back, in the event you decide to burglarize my home. I can shoot you if you're facing me, especially if you're heading towards me with what I feel is a gun or weapon of your own, as long as you're trespassing to begin with. If someone breaks and enters in your home in New Jersey and you shoot someone, you are probably going to go to jail, but if you do the same thing in Louisiana, you'll be fine. Because like firearms laws themselves, IT DEPENDS ON THE STATE. I wasn't talking about booby traps specifically, I was addressing your comment that somehow presumes federal law dictates Castle Laws. It doesn't. State law does.

  4. Ouch. Good luck with the Nebula thing, I think it's a fantastic idea but you face an uphill battle going against the corporate behemoth that is Google/YouTube. My one bit of advice is this: if you want it to be successful, DO NOT CHARGE a fee for it. Make it completely free, even if you're taking a loss on it for a while. Why? Because people are too used to YouTube being free. Either that, or maybe change your position on ads. It will see more traffic if it's free, but you need to find a way to collect money on it, I am just saying subscription fee isn't the way to go.

  8. Honestly, I am at the part you asked us to pause and predict the verdict. I am afraid that they're going to side with the criminal, just because that's how ridiculous things seem to be getting in America, especially. They better side with the homeowners, though. That'd be almost as bad as the burglar tripping over a pair of shoes at the top of a staircase that he couldn't see because it was dark and then turning around and suing the homeowners for having an unsafe home and winning. Mind bogglingly ridiculous.

Moral of the story: next time your wife asks you to lower the shotgun in the booby trap so as not to hit the target in the stomach, nod your head with a smile but instead of lowering it, raise it. Let's see if we can't get him in the head. Kind of hard for them to sue when they're dead. I can't even believe the nerve of this guy, let alone that it got as far as it did. Trying to burglarize somebody's home only to turn around and sue them because you fell down the stairs or something and broke your neck. There should be no avenue for this guy to punish what would've been his victims, instead, if they did NOT do what they did.

  12. The production quality on this is outstanding, by the way. I am guessing this was what you meant when you said you had a new idea for a series. Talking about famous cases throughout history, and then giving them the animation treatment. It's a great idea.

I guess the main question is are you allowed to protect your house meaning JUST the actual people who live inside of it, OR does it mean that you literally get to protect the ENTIRE house, whether you're there or not. Because that's where the interesting aspect of the case is, defining what the limits actually are for protecting your "castle", so to speak. The fact they weren't there to operate the gun is only reason it's something debatable at all.
