  2. Perhaps they are meaningfully aware- but they understand that you should not punish people today for the sins of their fathers? Japan has repented, completely changed their society and government + all the peoples of those atrocities are long dead. People in Japan rebuke the actions of their past leadership and military. It's the reason people don't hate Germans because of the history of the Nazi's It's the reason Vietnamese don't hate Americans because of their history in the Vietnam war. The world cannot go on and progress with people holding onto grudges and blaming people today for their ancestors sins who are long since dead
