@A. A. As you see the video, they used to develop 40% of the worlds chips. They also literally invented the semiconductor. Problem is they outsourced a lot of their manufacturing for it. They still design up to 60% of the world's software for semiconductors

China has been subsidizing their industries for decades and to drown out global competition and dump their products onto the world, distorting global markets. This the hypocrisy and projection at it's finest They're only mad because others are fighting fire with fire, and it hurts their plan to get ahead

@padnomnidprenon9672 Excuse me? China is the KING of subsidizing and breaking their trade agreements. They subsidize steel, solar panel manufacturing, electric battery development, ship building, and oil production industries, and semiconductors/technology companies They are simply mad because now the US is fighting fire with fire, and it hurts their plans to dominate chips. They also have stole chip technology from both US firms and Taiwanese firms... stop it

China is about 5 years behind the leaders in the semiconductor industry. This may not seem like a lot but in the semiconductor world - it's huge. Their efforts to subsidize their own chip industry (hypocrites) has largely failed due to corruption and semiconductors being incredibly hard and expensive to manufacture. China would also not be able to operate Taiwan's semiconductor manufacturing if they took over Taiwan, because the software it uses is from the US

@eric5901 Oh I know all about the blacklisting and I think it was a smart move. No, you don't get the help of the country you constantly steal technology from and are trying to overtake using unfair trade practices and economic policy. Incase you haven't noticed - China is ruining it's relationships with every developed country in the world. US, Canada, the countries in the EU, Australia, Japan, and even India (still developing). Who is the common denominator here?

@zilun Lol no I'm saying that it's 5 years behind and relies on stealing technology and state subsidies. Funny you call them puny, when their semiconductors are more advanced, their per capita income is much higher, their life expectancy and public health are much better, food quality is much better, and societal manners are much better...than "big boss China".
