You realize Japan, South Korea, India.. all did this before? It's simply bc China has 4 variants circulating and they aren't sharing any gene sequencing data. Other countries want to know if there is a new variant being produced from these massive infections... it's not about being scared of covid

@robinchan9406 So do you realize that US is the 4th nation to do this? And now many others are also doing it. There is plenty virus around the world at this point. The world is concerned because China is not sharing any of it's gene sequencing data, so nobody knows if there is a new variant being created by China letting it rip on the biggest scale so far. Another irresponsible move by the CCP, after 3 years of irresponsibility by having zero plan for this day

@samlee7180 Lets be clear - nobody has more daily cases than China right now, nobody. Not even close... And the US is the 4th nation to require testing. It's not about stopping spread of Covid, it's because China is not sharing it's gene sequencing data to the world (even though the world has always been open and shared it with China) so they need to find out if another mutation is being born from China's irresponsible policy of going from 0 Covid to 100% Covid over night.

@sammanis9148 Well lets be clear - nobody has imposed any type of lockdown or restriction nearly as severe as China. So it's not exactly the same thing when you compare other countries criticisms of China's draconian measures. Also - the financial cost and social unrest is what forced China to drop Zero Covid - not the US or any other country. Plain and simple - until China stops demanding a covid test on inbound travelers - it doesn't make sense for them to throw a fit by others also imposing one.

@sammanis9148 A made up story? Can you read? I literally lived through these measures for the past 3 years in China. I was in the 2 month locked down. I had friends who's pets were killed when they were taken away to quarantine centers. Don't tell me it's made up

@sammanis9148 China is the one stopping it's rise. It's ruined relationships with the entire developed world with it's assertive policies and now they are pushing back. Xi should've listened to Deng when he said "Bide your time and hide your strength.". He got overconfident and showed his cards too soon...and now the rest of the world has become aware. Also, it's funny that you think manipulating an entire population to be more nationalism to achieve political means is acceptable.
