Something the CCP does not realize about this "short-term economic pain" is that much of it will be medium to long term. How many businesses have/will close down because of this policy? How many businesses will not invest more or start up because of this policy, or fear of future policy shifts? That is the medium to longer-term pain. How about the effect on birth rates? This is not just "pain", this is economic "scarring"

@JosueMartinez-ww1vj You're not reading what I'm saying... it's not just short term pain, that is only one layer. There is medium and longterm pain... please read everything before you talk man. Not to mention - if they had accepted western vaccines, and pushed to vaccinate the old - they wouldn't have to lock down at all - as their vaccines do jack nothing. It's pure nationalism that this was allowed to happen

What's insane is that they are more willing to lock people up in their homes for so long, with no food, and refuse them medical care... but no vaccine mandate until now, and just in Beijing. Absolutely baffling
