I said from the start that China would lean on this dude to drop out because they want the KMT to win and his support would split the KMT vote and almost ensure the DPP win - which they dont want.

@vlhc4642 Lol grossly over-estimate? Beijing cares insanely who wins in Taiwan. Taking back Taiwan seems to be one of Xi's desired major accomplishments while he holds power...this is evident from his words, the increasingly increased aggression, the amount of effort they use to spread disinfo in TW to help the KMT and hurt the DPP. If the DPP or KMT wins is a major factor in the country's China policy. So no, I'd say you are absolutely wrong on that one.
