  1. This is absolutely not true. I live in Shanghai and am currently on day 50 of a total lockdown, and I mean TOTAL lockdown... I could not get food or water in the beginning and I will get arrested if I leave my house. Forced mass testing every two days, and I could not get food or water in the beginning. I have to use a VPN to access the outside internet because it's blocked here, I have to censor myself on private messaging apps bc of fear of legal consequences or deportation. Foreigners are institutionally not treated the same or afforded the same rights as locals. America is nothing like China and is NOT becoming like China. To say such a thing is completely disingenuous.
