They are mass producing things that go into kids toys, electric scooters, remote controls...etc. Meanwhile TSMC and Samsung are producing the highest quality/most advanced chips that go into things like: iphones, advanced computers, scientific equipment, etc......the value of those chips far outweigh the value created by the entirety of semiconductors produced by China. Remember - not all chips are created equal

Taiwan has: governed itself for 70 years, it's own passport, currency, diplomatic ties, trade agreements, system of government, military The CCP waited too long to retake the island and now the world see's it as it's own country.   56. Wow somebody knows nothiiiing about economics. 1. China's export rising is largely due to stronger foreign currencies and a weaker yuan...not an actual increase in value. Ie - you sell something for 10$ today, and then in one year there is 50% inflation and now you sell the same thing for 15$. You actually did not make more, because the actual value of what you sold is the same. 2. A better indicator of China's economy are their imports - which reflect economic demand. Imports have gone down, which shows Chinese domestic consumption is weak. 3. China's economy cannot solely rely on exports anymore. That worked 10-30 years ago, it doesn't work as well today. Especially considering China cannot progress to an advanced/developed economy by relying on exports so much... they need domestic consumption and innovation.

That is basically China's entire semiconductor industry vs TSMC, Samsung, or even the US in terms of value added. US chips are not near the value of Samsung or TSMC, but they're still pretty high and they create the software and designs that both of those countries use. China does not produce high quality chips as of now, therefore the world does not use China "high quality chips". These are facts, so I don't need to say anything further. The electronic components you speak of that are imported from China to the US and then sold at a profit are - low end, cheap electronics. Which are the only semiconductors that China currently mass produces. Look, your comment wreaks of bias. I'm only telling you what is objectively true - I have no feelings about who produces what.   134. Hmm not sure if they'll be ready militarily to attack in 2025. I don't believe their navy is up to par yet and the latest chip ban really hurts those prospects. In addition, China is trying to build back up it's economy and a war would definitely hamper that as much of the trade from the coasts anywhere near Taiwan do tons of China's exports. Lastly, China would only likely attack when it's 100% sure it could win. Even if there is a 20% chance that China would not be successful, I don't think Xi would take the chance as the result of losing would be way too damaging. I heard one of the leaders in Taiwan suspects it'll be in 2027 - when Xi seeks his 4th term. This will give him a chance to say he accomplished something and being a wartime leader is often good in the short run for political support of your country.

They are selling their oil at about a 30$ discount to global prices.. so they aren't making as much per barrel as the high oil prices globally 2. Their overall volume of barrels sold is still down. Russia is also highly inflating their official numbers to appear they aren't hurting so badly 3. Once the global oil economy restructures, global oil prices will fall sharply. This effect will be felt within a year and will be fully in effect within 2 years. In addition, at this point the Russian economy will be selling zero oil to Europe and the West. Russia has doomed itself as an economy and energy super power

What you do is tell your population "We are going to start relaxing zero covid in 3 months。 Get vaccinated now" to create urgency You then start preparing medical supplies, ICU beds, doctors, etc. You start educating the public on how to the reduce risks, etc. You then slightly start to relax curbs over time to give the hospital system a chance to get up to speed. All of these things would have saved many lives and hurt the economy much less.

Some estimates are much higher... and there are tons of videos showing that funeral homes are overrun and crematoriums are running day and night. For China's level of development - they should have higher organic growth (consumption and private business investment). Their number is largely inorganic, government mandated growth. They use debt to build unproductive assets which actually put them deeper in the hole and hurt them in the longterm.

US needs others to buy it's debt to maintain it's budget deficits - and China needs to buy US debt (dollars) to maintain it's budget surpluses (which is what an export-based economy needs to function) with the rest of the world. It's a mutually beneficial relationship in that respect and neither's economies could do what they do if it wasn't like that. It's not like China is doing the US any favors by buying treasures or has somekind of leverage.. they both need those transactions, or else China wouldn't do it.

They have: 1. their own system of government 2. their own passports 3. their own currency 4. their own trade and diplomats 5. Completely different social rules (if you go to both China and Taiwan, you will see the massive difference) Right now, they are unable to take it, because Taiwan has support from powerful countries and China's military and economy would be retaliated against. They should've done it decades ago, when nobody knew the difference between Taiwan and Thailand

This is because the US has the ability to self-reflect and is capable of admitting mistakes, so it can learn from them. How many times has the CCP admitted to making mistakes? People in China are not even allowed to criticize the government publicly. They even get in trouble for doing it overseas. How can a government learn from mistakes if they cannot even admit they have made any? I'm not sure why you are bringing up Nazi's. China is running record amounts of debt though, even more than the US - they disguise it by putting it in local governments and state run enterprises in the form of corporate debt though. They are running out of debt capacity and I think the next 10+ years will look nothing like the last 10+ years in terms of growth. Then the population decline kicks in and it becomes Japan level stagnation

Trade is a 2 way street... and China tariffs just about anything imported from the outside, including Indian goods. Rising costs in China make Indian goods even more affordable than Chinese - but they're tarriffed so much in China that they become more expensive than buying local Chinese products. These kind of things need to stop or India needs to reciprocate
