Germany has made the right move and has actually gained face globally. Europe will go through a small pain period but it will be ending within a year, once they fully source their energy from another country. The mistake for Germany was to rely on Russia so much to begin with.

Ok so this report is not giving the full picture: The Russians may be making some money off of higher oil prices, however.. 1. They are selling their oil at about a 30$ discount to global prices.. so they aren't making as much per barrel as the high oil prices globally 2. Their overall volume of barrels sold is still down. Russia is also highly inflating their official numbers to appear they aren't hurting so badly 3. Once the global oil economy restructures, global oil prices will fall sharply. This effect will be felt within a year and will be fully in effect within 2 years. In addition, at this point the Russian economy will be selling zero oil to Europe and the West. Russia has doomed itself as an economy and energy super power

geranienbaum They have viable plans to do so and are already working on it. It's estimated to be completed within 2 years. I can't say each and every country but I know they plan to buy from the other top oil producing countries.

@alexanderanderson4082 Well every country needs/buys something from another country....and it will always be like this, for everybody. Nobody is 100% self sufficient.... so I'm not quite getting what you're saying. Germany and the rest of Europe will begin to produce and resource their energy from somebody other than Russia. It will take time to reroute all of those supply chains...and it will be painful, but it will pass with time. France is in the best position (they get most of their power from nuclear)...but all of this "doom and gloom" I'm seeing in the comments here is just ridiculous....Germany and the rest of Europe will be fine in 1-2 years. It will hurt, but they'll recover

@davidwoon6402 Nobody is going to repent for anything. Germany and Europe will go through a pain period for the next year, and then things will start to get better. 2 + years and they'll be fine.... who won't be fine will be Russia as it's economy and place as an energy super power has been permanently damaged
