Hmm not sure if they'll be ready militarily to attack in 2025. I don't believe their navy is up to par yet and the latest chip ban really hurts those prospects. In addition, China is trying to build back up it's economy and a war would definitely hamper that as much of the trade from the coasts anywhere near Taiwan do tons of China's exports. Lastly, China would only likely attack when it's 100% sure it could win. Even if there is a 20% chance that China would not be successful, I don't think Xi would take the chance as the result of losing would be way too damaging. I heard one of the leaders in Taiwan suspects it'll be in 2027 - when Xi seeks his 4th term. This will give him a chance to say he accomplished something and being a wartime leader is often good in the short run for political support of your country.
