  3.  @1ndragunawan  So this is also true...even for China. Not only does the world rely on Taiwan, but China itself also relies on Taiwan for chips. This is one of the barriers China will need to overcome before it invades/takes Taiwan - Chip dominance. Not an easy feat

  4. There is also another aspect besides only chips. China would have a strategic advantage to project itself militarily if it were to control Taiwan. This would be a major danger for Japan and also the US.....hence Japan also being especially concerned with Taiwan China desperately wants to control the first Island chain. For defense and also offensive purposes.

Something a lot of people don't understand is that the US feels a sort of kinship with Taiwan because of US history. The US used to be in a similar position as Taiwan - England claiming America as it's own, and America saying they want to rule themselves. The main difference is that China is the big one and Taiwan is the small one. But the truth is US and Taiwan share this sort of experience, of being claimed by another and wanting to rule themselves
