Same exact thing happened with Tesla. Tesla trained all of the Chinese suppliers to produce those parts and at that level of quality - now they all supply the same parts to the Chinese EV companies. The Chinese government saw the success apple had on building up domestic smartphone competitors and they allowed/orchestrated the same thing with Tesla

@andyy9261 What you're saying has nothing to do with what I'm saying

@merrychase9744 Just like the other guy - what you're saying has nothing to do with what I'm saying
2
@andyy9261 You are missing my point and it has nothing to do with when Buffet invested
2
@andyy9261 It changed a ton after the introduction of Tesla. You saw massive advancements in quality and competitors spring up left and right. This was not an accident and a tried and true practice of introducing a market leader that then creates competition by upgrading the skills of people and suppliers. Apple is just an earlier example
2
@AXJK946 Well its 2018 and you're talking an entire industry vs one company, so uhh yeah. Introduction of Tesla supercharged the industry and made it much more competitive as Tesla upgraded the skills of workers, suppliers and the quality of their goods.

@andyy9261 Same to you. I know its hard for you to accept that China did not just build its EV industry on its own. It had many years of protectionist behaviors with subsidies...and when it was ready to make the next level - they introduced a tough competitor to take them to the next level. Same thing with apple and Huawei, Xiaomei, etc. China did not just innovate and jump to the front - there was indirect help foreign companies

@AXJK946 I know you hate to believe that China didn't get its EV industry completely on its own - but its true. After years of heavy protectionist behavior and subsidies from the government - they introduced a very tough foreign competitor and industry leader (just as they did with apple) that took the industry to the next level by bringing skills and upgrading the local suppliers that served them. Yes, China had indirect help from foreigners and their tech to build its EV industry (and phone industry). Boo hoo go cry more

@andyy9261 Not MAGA at all, and what I'm saying isn't some big secret. You can look it up - its a known and intentional strategy
1
@hehe-mq2bk They didn't innovate by themselves. Introducing Tesla into the eco-system jump started it as Tesla pushed/helped them upgrade their operations and skills. These same suppliers also went on to supply Chinese EV's and further progress the tech they were supplying
1
@tooltalk Yeah, but I think you're misinterpreting the tone of what I'm saying. I'm not saying apple or Tesla were taken advantage of, fooled, or coerced in any way. They chose to complete in their right mind. I'm just saying what did happen and how it happened.
