  1. Hmm I see both sides of it. In situations where the employer has a lot of leverage and worker does not... ie you really need a job, or you simply don't understand what a non-compete is (many young people do not) - then its not that simple and could deny future work opportunities once you leave. At the same time - if you work for a media company (such as a youtube podcast) you want to make sure you aren't hiring people just so they can learn from you, then turn right around and use that to copy and compete with you and poach your staff/guests. I knew of a specific case where this happened
