  1. What strikes me is how nobody is actually addressing the real problem: the strength of the US dollar. A strong currency means US exports are more expensive and imports are less expensive. If we want to boost exports - we need capital controls on US treasuries for foreign buyers to lower the artificially high US dollar and minimize damage to consumers. The tariffs simply treat the symptom, and not the cause... and cause a lot of harm to US consumers.
