  2.  @Fred-t8q  I just think initiatives where the sole purpose is to pick people based on race or gender is not helpful to the business and alienates a lot of people. I think its fine if , for example, you have 3 equally qualified candidates (ie 2 white males and 1 black female) and you choose the black male because you have a lack of diversity... but that doesn't seem to be whats going on here. It seems like there are quotas to hit and when you create quotas you create incentives for people to seek out others based on ethnicity/gender instead of the most qualified individuals. I also think it can make a lot of people feel alienated. So I'm very much for diversity, but I'm not for initiatives that seek out people based on race and gender as the primary focus to achieve specific DEI targets/quotas
