@RochendilGaming Honestly, it doesn’t matter what Mr Gorbachev said although I feel that he is a good man who did good things for the USSR in terms of bringing openness as well as the possibility of a true democracy and economic prosperity for the Soviet working class people…but Putin has squashed all of that potential. The reality is that many former Soviet republics have sought NATO protection against Russian threats. There was no NATO expansion. These countries ASKED to be in NATO voluntarily. If Russia had acted in a cooperative way, rather than an intimidating way, they would not be surrounded by NATO members. Russia is reaping what it has sown.

@ The USSR allied with the Nazi’s in WW2 to invade Poland. What’s your point?
3
@fidelc1269 Excellent point. Just like why none of the NK troops in Kursk can ever see their home again.
2
@ 1) Why do YOU choose to support Putin? 2) If Russia would stop bombing apartment blocks, schools, hospitals, etc…Ukrainian losses would be much less. Putin has the benefit here b/c the Russian people are disposable pawns to him. 3) “Crucial aspects”? What is that vagueness referring to? 4) The “Istanbul Surrender”…that makes it very clear that you’re a Putin troll. Do you feel bad accepting money to spread lies?
2
@davoodoo8042 Decent attempt at a Jedi mind trick. Russia has used threats and weapons nvasions on their neighbors to n the past. Now, Russia’s neighbors don’t trust Russia, so they ask to join NATO. …And then Russians ask “why?”🙄🙄🙄
1
@tasospanagiotou7823 Why was the first move made? It was because none of the former Soviet Republics trusted Russia. So those countries ASKED to voluntarily join NATO. Russia should have been more cooperative and less threatening...now Russia is reaping what it has sown.
1
@ When were the referendums to remain aligned with Russia?
1
@ PLEASE stop dodging my questions. What date did Ukraine apply for NATO membership? It’s a simple internet search and you keep avoiding it!
1
@carkawalakhatulistiwa Sorry but that is just kooky. I mean like not based in reality. But I do appreciate your effort.
1
@Michael-st9ky Oh my, you’re trying so hard. When did former Soviet satellite states start to leave Soviet control? Can you answer that one question for us?
1
@neverknowsbest2879 Why do YOU support dictators?
1
@prasadmv511 Make your ramblings more succinct.
1
@tasospanagiotou7823 How do you know that for sure without referendums? Were there referendums held in those 16 countries showing that they did NOT want to join NATO? All joking aside: 1) We recognize you as a Putin troll based on multiple recent comments, all citing Kremlin talking points. 2) You and I both know the eastern Europen countries have the option of becoming economically much stronger like Czechia and Poland if they align with the West or becoming the next Belarus if they join Putin. Honestly "taso", which would you choose and why?
1
@Beefsteakjake And we’ve kept our promise. As usual, Russia broke their promise by attacking Ukraine. Shame on Russians!
1
@tasospanagiotou7823 You keep repeating the same point but also keep failing to cite which treaty you are referring to. Come on, cite your reference. Otherwise, we'll all know that you are lying.
1
@ When did Ukraine formally apply for NATO membership? There’s your answer.
1
@ Just saw this response. My apologies for my prior post. So, you are saying that Ukraine’s request for NATO membership was AFTER Russian troops entered Crimea and the Donbas in 2014? Am I understanding you correctly?
1
@ PS How is Ukraine entering NATO any different from Finland entering NATO?
1
@ That’s a common story for many eastern Euro countries. Russia has a long record of threats and intimidation towards smaller and weaker countries adjacent to them. What can we say? Russia should have approached these countries with cooperation and not the goal of control. Russia under Putin is reaping what they have sown. Why was Finland going into NATO not a big deal, but Ukraine is a big deal?
1
@ Thank you but that doesn’t address the original question. Putin is saying that he had to attack Ukraine b/c NATO missiles in Ukraine are an existential threat to Russia. Why aren’t NATO missiles in Finland also an existential threat to Russia? PS Thanks for taking this question on. Most people won’t touch it.
1
@ Thanks for the response. Two thoughts: 1) Putin could agree that Ukraine has the exact same NATO restrictions as Finland. Problem solved. 2) Ukraine would never initiate a war with Russia…but they will fight an invader.
1
@Nikitsko More statements showing why Russia cannot be trusted.
1
@davoodoo8042 Then Putin shouldn’t have invaded Ukraine if he wanted them to remain neutral. Sorry but that’s a stupid thing to do.
1
@davoodoo8042 Putin should’ve sweetened his offer so that was better than what the West was offering. The West was offering the hot girl. Russia was offering the ugly girl. Which would you choose?
1
@ You failed to mention what exactly Ukraine failed to honor in the Budapest Memorandum. Was that for a reason?
1
@ The Budapest Memorandum does not mention Ukraine remaining neutral in the face of Russian aggression. Why do you lie “Chris”? Why do you support Putin?
1
@tasospanagiotou7823 Which agreement are you referring to? Do you know which agreement you are referring to?
1
@christopherh2570 Look at that, you two trolls have teamed up! Ok guys, which treaty are you referring to exactly? Come on, show us.
1
@ When did Ukraine formally apply for NATO membership?
1
@ Important correction: When NATO said tve COULD join, they did. Quick question Chris. Why do you personally choose to support Putin? Do you also support Kim Jung Un?
1
@ I can see that you’re dodging facts. Russia attacked Ukraine BEFORE Ukraine applied to NATO. So who started this mess? Please answer the original question before jumping to other points as a distraction. Here are the other points you’re missing: 1) Finland shares a border with Russia and is very close to St Petersburg, port access, and Murmansk…yet Putin had nothing to say about Finland joining NATO. Why is that different than Ukraine? 2) How much say does Ukraine have in saying who Russia can ally with? The answer is none. And that’s the exact same amount of say Russia has as to who Ukraine can ally with.
1
@agegroot5666 My great grandfather is not me. Go back and come up with a valid argument to support Putin.
1
@ Yes, being on the offensive costs more troops and equipment than being on the defensive. That’s why Russia has such a staggeringly high casualty rate from 2/2022 to the present…for only a small percentage of Ukraine taken since 2/2022. And the cost to Russia will continue to be that high as long as Ukrainians are armed.
1
@ Please cite a reference for your claim. Otherwise, we’ll just assume that you are lying.
1
@ I’ve watched Gorbachev’s last interview. He is a well spoken man but he doesn’t mention “NATO expansion”. Personally, I just think you’re a liar. Maybe it’s a Russian thing.
1
@Aleksa208 We don’t know the difference between 6 and a half dozen🙄.
1
@ I see that you’re a big supporter of Putin. Why is that?
