@justsomeone953 you are forgetting a few important moments. First, Russia went through a lot of crisis in the new history. Revolution, civil war, then WW2, then Soviet Union falling apart (not without your American help). Basically modern Russia started anew from the very bottom about 20 years ago- when Putin came. While you in America have never had a war on your territory, never ever- with external enemy I mean, and WW2 actually was a blessing for you taking you out of great depression. If we had so many years of just stabile developement, I think we would be doing better that you.
Second, you forget that America emposed dollar dictatorship on the whole world. Smart move and good timing I have to admit. Now you just print money whenever you need to, and your external debt is terrifying- about 22 billion dollars. Basically that good life that you have, you lead on borrowed money not supported by anything. The one of Russia is just 437 million btw. This system more or less works as long as dollar has dominating position in the world. But- very dangerous things started happening- some countries now have trade deals IN THEIR OWN CURRENCES. That's the beginning of the end for you/ Remember Gaddafi? He signed his death sentence when he tried to get rid of dollar. But now Russia, Saudi Arabia, China, India started doing the same. I think you should prepare for hard times coming

@jimmcloughlin roads)) very funny.
First, Russia would have never been excepted into EU. That was with many promises given to Russia and for some time we believed and tried hard to to follow all rules and regulations hoping to be recognised as an equal partner. So many western structures and ideas were adopted, countless. Soon we realized it's just bla-bla. Rules only work for those who sets them and are used to keep us under control.
About roads and factories. I see many news episodes are illustrated with videos from Russia that are 20-30 years old. Maybe you believe this is how Russia looks now? Sorry to disappoint but Moscow for example is a fantastic city now, clean beautiful and comfortable, very advanced where you can pay transport with your FACE and streets are washed with shampoo. I remember many years ago seeing it abroad and getting amazed- and now we have it in Russia while my last visit to Rome I saw rubbish everywhere and sht spread on the streets in the center. Urgggg. Of course Moscow is the capital, but it also being done in many other parts of Russia. Look at Kazan for example. We have good free hospitals, many new factories were built, and roads)), industries function well and due to sanctions- thanks- we learnt to be self reliable in many spheres. Putin might be rich, but I don't mind it- he totally deserves it for what he did with Russia. 20 years ago he got a ruined country, and look at it now- striking contrast.
That's why people of my age, around 40, would never support scum like Navalny. We remember very well what it was like 20 years ago and we don't buy into this BS. Navalny is universally despised btw, everyone knows he is paid by the west and generally an asshle. And when we see him pushed as opposition- it is SO clear it's western narrative. You don;t really understand what's going on in Russia

@AJ-Lohinska I always find it very funny when people like you come to me and try preaching. Who think I have the position that I have because I am misinformed and live in a dictatorship. You can't be more wrong. I think I am actually much better informed that you as I get info from both sides. I don't only watch official sources but follow lots of independents channels and have personal connections. Long time ago I was a young girl who was fascinated with western culture, music, films and lifestyle. I really thought it was beautiful and the best way to be. I studies languages, and history. Of both worlds. Read hundreds of books. Lived and worked abroad. And the more I was doing so, the more the other side was opening to me. And things that Putin said long time ago and I didn't understand, thinking- jaja sure, Mr President, suddenly started making sense. I lost that illusion. I know the west now for what it is- an ever hungry predator, only caring about money and not giving a shit about anything else. Which has Ayn Rand philosophy guiding them. Ect ect. U don;t know even a small fraction of things that were happening, and long before 2014. You get your info from mainstream media and try to tell me you know the truth, it's just laughable. Spare it. Since you the west and only you and your disgusting ambitions are to blame for what is happening now

@gio-ko7kf 1. Civilians were killed only in Donbass. I don't call it civil war, I call it genocide. And It def not Russia who strted it.
2. Pentagon biolabs in Russia, you mental? I would like to know why Pentagon surrounded Russia with biolabs- they are in Ukraine, in Georgia, in Kazakstan etc. WTF?
3. Azov isn't the only batallion, just the most famous one. And when it doesn't end up in prison, but is integrated into regular army, we know what's going on. And it's not just military, there videos with huge rallies, thousand of people with nazi symbol. Even coat of arm is connected with nazi although they tell you some BS about it. Not to mention naming streets in Kiev after nazi collaborators. That's already national ideoligy
4. Ukraine never had its own nukes, they just happened to be on its territory. Russia took all the debts of former Soviet Union and of course had a right for its legacy

@daniellarson3068 it is hard talking to primitives, you are right. I wish I got paid! You do, I suppose? Cause anyone writing something, does it only for money! Very typical position for westerners.
I guess you could quote from Rowling, but don't pretend an idiot, we all know what happened to her personally. And hundreds of others, looking at her example, will prefer to keep their position to themselves. That's your so called freedom of speach- you are free to say whatever the current thing to support is. I personally spoke to people who say- yeah we aren't happy about BLM, gender BS, migrants everywhere, but we cant say it outloud, we will be attacked socially and professionally. Your beatiful Ukraine forbade any printed material in Russian btw- now for a book in russian you can go to prison. Now that's an example of democracy. For speaking anything other then Ukranian in public places like shops or hairdresser's a fine of 300$

@drususmaior1641 actually why go as far as Napoleon. Let's look at those:
H. Kissinger: "The collapse of the Soviet Union is, of course, the most important event of our time, and the Bush administration has shown amazing skill in its approach to this problem ...
I will prefer chaos and civil war in Russia to the tendency to reunite it into a single, strong, centralized state."
British Prime Minister John Major: “Russia's task after losing the Cold War is to provide prosperous countries with resources. But for this they need only 50-60 million people.”
Margaret Thatcher: "On the territory of Russia, it is economically justified to live 15 million people servicing wells and mines."
Advisor to the President of the United States Zbigniew Brzezinski: "The smaller the population in this territory (the USSR and Russia), the more successful its development by the West will be"
"Slavs - Russians, Belarusians, Ukrainians - the most recalcitrant peoples in the world. They can be destroyed, but not conquered. Hitler was a stupid boy, he acted openly. We will not have traces."
