  3. It's because of the stacking. I believe it was mentioned here but also in some previous videos. The stacking in turn is because you want the transistors to be as close as possible to each other for faster computing: trade off results in heavy heating.

  4. Call it what you will: information needs a physical support in any case. It's not necessarily irreversible: everything you store in the RAM gets wiped out each time you turn your computer off.
