Except that he is talking about strategic nuclear weapons and how Russia would respond to a first strike by another country. It has next to nothing to do with tactical lower yield nuclear weapons that don't require any suitcases to be used.
15
Fact is we don't exactly know how the protocol works in Russia and the speculation of the Russian nuclear suitcase is based on what we know from the soviet times instead of 2022. That is also related to strategic nuclear strikes, not tactical battlefield weapons that are relevant to the Ukraine situation. Putin isn't going to need any suitcase to order a tactical strike in Ukraine. Will he do it and would people follow his orders if he did is anyones guess at this point.
11
@minimaxmiaandme.4971 Yes, the young educated people in Moscow and St. Petersburg are much more opposed to Putin on average than the babushkas in the countryside. You can see lots of interviews of random Russian people on the topic on the "1420" channel.
10
Just like Kherson was "forever Russia" for a few months?
10
I don't know what the exact number is but the large support for Putin is real in Russia even according to independent polls by Levada etc. Also, there are many that support Putin even among the ethnic Russians in EU countries where they can speak their mind without fear. So don't fool yourself that many Russians would not be behind Putin.
6
@anon7843 What do you mean with "either country's perspective"? You think Ukraine doesn't have the right to defend itself or what are you talking about?
5
Don't trust either family or tv, problem solved.
4
@Rohnon Every NATO country needs to step up. Afaik we produce something like 300 000 artillery rounds per year while I heard Russia can produces 3 million (exact numbers might be off, but the magnitude is something like this). Even if we would avoid war, our production is totally inadequate at the moment and we should ramp up the production of everything like tanks, artillery, ammunition etc. at least temporarily for a few years. Give all the old stuff to Ukraine first and if for some reason we end up with more than we need ourselves, there surely will be takers and buyers of all that stuff in this situation for years to come. 300 Leopard tanks to every NATO country for example as a starting minimum requirement and if it costs too much, use legislation and nationalize the production so government owned factories can produce the essential stuff without some private companies ripping us off.
4
I agree otherwise, but I think letting those young men in that have the "summons" to military service might make sense. If we bussed them to Poland or something like that to work for some factory that helps Ukraine. It could be better for both: Russia has trouble getting enough men and those men would get a safe place to say in return for helping Ukraine.

What does the Kerch bridge have to do with Mariupol??
3
@sk-sm9sh yeah, let's just say I trust the Der Spiegel claim more than a random person on Youtube. Also it fits perfectly with how Germany has been stalling with every step since February. It needed to be convinced before it was ready to send anything else than helmets and the same reluctance still continues and totally different attitude compared to countries like UK and US.
3
@harryhewitt6795 Obviously we should have that type of essentials produced here on our own continent in some places very safe from a bombing perspective and not rely on any outside sources for them. Even if we don't have lots of ammo in storage, we should at least have plans and cabability to ramp up production of those items rapidly when need arises.
3
No need to go for Melitopol immediately but to reach the Azov sea where ever the land bridge is protected the least. That would enable cutting of all the Russians west from that line of attack and in Crimea when the Kerch bridge would also become in range more easier. It's possibly a risky attack but could pay well if it would succeed. Ukrainians could simply wait the Russians out and force them to surrender without a fight when they run out of suplies.
2
You should ask Youtube why are they letting Russian trolls flag these videos as "not suitable for all viewers" or what ever the notification is that comes before the video. Youtube censorship is getting out of hand.
2
@nichols1936 The suply lines to Mariupol obviously come from Donbas, not from the Kerch bridge. Kerch bridge effects Crimea and perhaps even Kherson but has practically nothing to do with suply of Mariupol.
2
@ChickenNugNugz2 Well tv and family are about the farthest from the foundations of reality I can think of. Both or pretty reliable sources of absolute bs.

Might go to vacation to Crimea some day if Ukraine gets it back.
1
It could simply be the fact that they don't like the topic, it could be controversial to them and something advertisers don't like. They might have monetised other channels doing videos on the same topic and now figured there is enough already or some bots might be flagging you. End of the day, youtube doesn't owe anybody anything as it's their site and they can do as they like. People making videos are also free to go on another site to post their videos if they have better luck there. I had a channel also where the views suddenly dropped 90% because someone at youtube flipped some switch, it is what it is and people shouldn't depend on YT for their sole source of income.
1
Give me a break, they can fix the runways if that is an issue and logistics is obviously going to be easier for a plane that is widely adopted and spare parts are available. Thousands of F-16 exist while only a few countries in Europe have the grippen and there is only a few hundred of them. What is the point of bothering to train pilots and mechanics on a few planes they might never get rather than F-16 which is actually a possibility.
1
Russian losses are many times higher than that of Ukraine so it's in fact Russia that is in denial on how this war will end.
1
@joecai2841 Why would I be labeled a Putin lover for saying that most of the Russians seem to be so? I'm not saying anything about myself as I'm not Russian.
1
@thethirdtime9168 As I said ethnic Russians have also been polled in EU in places like Estonia. No reason to try make excuses for them, many are behind Putin and blame NATO for the war even among people already living outside of Russia. Don't fool yourself thinking they are just innocent victims of a regime when they mostly suport the regime and have enabled it for decades.
1
@mishXY Levada has been doing this polling for decades and even if they had some systematic bias of Putin fans responding more often that would not explain the popularity of Putin actually rising whenever he invades another country. And as I said same popularity is seen among even in ethnic Russians living in Estonia where they have no fear of answering if they dislike Putin like the majority of the population. Just recently saw a DW video where an Estonian (ethnic Russsian) from Keila was blaming NATO for the war and calling them fascists. Basically repeating every Putin talking point. Don't fool yourself and think he was some 1% exception.
1
@UmBungo I live in a city with half the population being ethnic Russians, have multiple actually Russian friends that I have known for decades. I know very well the people in Russia and Russians abroad. What is wrong with supporting Putin? Nothing expect all the things that were wrong in supporting Hitler. Anyone with half a brain sees that but that group doesn't seem to include you.
1
@nichols1936 The distance from Mariupol to Russian border is about 50km, from this side they can suply Mariupol with both rail and road. From the Kerch brdige the distance to Mariupol is over 500km and they can only use trucks. It's obvious from just looking at the map, that Russians aren't suplying Mariupol with anything going over the Kerch bridge. Also what is more logical is take Mariupol side first and block the land bridge to Crimea before trying to take it back. So there is good chance Crimea will be the last area they try to take back and Mariupol will be taken before that.
1
With the shaved beard but with mustache intact you are not far away from loking bit like an American cop😁You can perfect the look with a short haircut and be ready for Hollywood. I speculated about a month ago that Ukraine would take Crimea back next spring or summer, I hope they can do that. They might push towards Mariupol next spring and try to cut the Russian forces in two. It would be hard for them to suply the forces left in the west then as Ukraine would easily be in range of the Kerch bridge also.

How can a lawyer help? Youtube doesn't have any obligation to host anybody or monetise anyone, they can choose what they like to monetise on their platform.
1
@donnievance1942 The contract says they can monetize or demonetize any channel for pretty much any reason they like. Thinking there is some window for a class action is living in la la land.
1
@lauchlanguddy1004 Why would they need to give them ability to challenge anything? If you start a website, does FB have the right to post anything they like on it or are you free to choose what appears on your website? FB owns FB, it's their platform so they should be allowed to do whatever they like on it. Same goes for every other online website, as long as they don't break the law they should be free to do what they like. Other people that don't like it are free to start their competing services, that is how capitalism and free speech works.
1
@sk-sm9sh Not true that German has been blocking? "Der Spiegel: Germany blocks Spain from sending Leopard tanks to Ukraine." And work is not done yet for them to be delievered? Germany has not even started any work to deliver the tanks that Rheinmetal has in storage. The company said it would take about a year for those old stored tanks to be fixed. I don't think Germany is the only problem, but I do believe we have ixxxxx running our countries all over Europe. If a bit of common sense would have been applied, at least I would have decided last March already: 1) Ramp up production of military hardware because even if its not used in a war, it can be used to replenish storage that is now needed for sure 2) Start restoging anything old that can be given to Ukraine, even if its' not given to Ukraine, some NATO country would probably buy it anyway 3) Train Ukrainian soldiers on ANY system they could possibly get in the future, including Leopard tanks etc. in the case that someone delievers them a year later so the training wont be a 3 month bottle neck when equipment is given out. Training them hurts nobody, but not training them introduces delays.
1
@anon7843 You contradict yourself immediately in the first sentences. If you say they can do what they want then obviously you agree they are allowed to defend themselves and kill the invaders that are trying to take their country. You are the one pushing absolute rubbish and propaganda, Ukraine didn't target any civilians in Donbas and they would not had any reason to do any fighting there unless the Russians started hostilities there to beging with. Further it was Russians that were shooting down civilian airplanes there like the terrorists they are. NATO countries obviously have 100% the right to help Ukraine defend itself and actually should get directly involved and clear the country of the invaders. You are the one very confused if you think NATO with the economy of some 40 times larger than Russia will let this end in any other way than defeat for Russia and likely it's collapse like CCCP did in 1991.
1
@anon7843 So when your rubbish gets refuted, you only can throw your toys out the pram without any substance. Just as I thought. Nobody sides with you ixxxxts on anything, only countries like Syria, Belarus, North-Korea and the regime in Iran are on your side somewhat. Even China doesn't acknowledge your fantasy annexations of foreign lands, that should tell you something. You are practically alone and Ukraine will be like the Vietnam for Russia, supported by the free world. The war might take 5 years but the end result is nothing but guaranteed humiliation to your country and republics like Chechenya and others will most likely break off, as a result, disintegrating your whole failed state.
1
@anon7843 Yes I have read and you are spreading nonsense and lies. I know enough about the history of Ukraine, Russia and the US: the Budapest memorandum in 1994 where Russia agreed to the borders of Ukraine and agreed to guarantee the security of Ukraine in exchange for the nukes it gave up. Russia obviously violated that agreement like it violates all the agreements that are not convenient to it anymore. Nobody in the civilized world agrees with your rubbish, you need to look for partners like Nigaragua to find support and are the laughing stock of the planet with your recent failure in Ukraine. Nobody fears you after it became clear your army is weak and nobody respects you after they saw you bombing civilians like the cowards you are. You will be put back in your place and there is nothing you can do to stop it from happening.
1
@rightside1911 Why not? 50 000 per day is over 18 million per year. 3 million per year is something like 8000 per day.
1
@rightside1911 I said they can produce 3 million per year which matches exactly that: starting with 50 000 per day and then droppoing to some 5000 per day when stock is depleted.
1
@LinusWelt Nope, most German despise the Russian invaders. Few immigrants from Russia in Germany disagree and many people pretending to be German online.
1
I think going to prison is still an option even if one has kids. Not an easy option for any young person for sure, as it takes a lot of mental fortitude to go against strong coercion from officials. But still an option and the one with higher chances of survival. If Putin gets kicked out and some sanity returns to Russia, perhaps these people that went to prison could get pardoned and if not, a few years in prison and then life in some other country would still be better.
1
I'm no Putin supporter but these people claiming body doubles have to be off their rockers. The ears are obviously the same and the slight different appareance is just due to different camera angles. Photograph yourself from a bit different angles, higher, lower, front to back and compare. So if those are really doubles, Russia must have the best plastic surgery technology on the planet while almost everything else sucks.
1
@mrnobody3161 I'm a supporter of Ukraine and wish Putin would be brought to the Hague. You thinking I must be pro Russian just confirms you make rash conclusions about things without actual evidence, the same as with the conspiracy theory about the doubles. You voice your own opinion and then complain when others do the same🤦🏼♂
1
It is obvious he doesn't and the difference you think is there is just slightly different camera angles. Photograph yourself or someone else and you will learn. The jaw obviously also looks different based on angle of view and even based on things like lens focal length and distance from the subject. I give it about a 1% chance these are actually doubles and think you people are absolutely delusional. I'm no plastic surgery expert but have done enough photography to know how much different the face looks like from different angles etc.
1
@maryf.1956 Sure he did. He might have doubles but the ones in these images surely aren't ones because they aren't able to create identical twins. People claim even that his double is the one who visited China and attended other meetings with world leaders. This is the level of thinking with these conspiracies, some of you people think Putin sends some double to negotiate even with Xi 🤦🏼♂
1
@Ander01SE We have seen him exit airplanes and shaking hands, not that far from people at all. Or do you also belong to the group of people that think it's his body double travelling the world and negotiating with Xi for example?
