Nobody is forcing anyone to accept a job if they believe the terms are unreasonable and they can get better somewhere else.

@abbofun9022 There is no legal obligation to accept a job you consider substandard, you can find a better one if you think you are worth it. If the company can get employees with those conditions, then obviously the employees don't deserve better according to the market conditions and it's not governments' job to dictate this type of terms for adults under capitalism that aren't even safety related.

@abbofun9022 It's not exploitation when it's adult people that agree to do it. If the terms are not good enough, you have the right to refuse the job. It's you that is exploiting the company, when they are forced to give people more in a situation where there would be workers willing to settle for less.

@abbofun9022 Just because people like freedom and don't want your socialism doesn't mean they are ignorant.

@peter_meyer Well this video actually proves the EU is less free: in EU employees and workers can't agree to terms where this type of surveillance is possible, in the US they are able to. Nobody in the US forces anyone to accept a job where this happens either.

@brycehuff It's free for people also, nobody forces you to accept any job offers you believe are substandard. It's the companies money, they get to decide for what they are willing to part with it.

@peter_meyer What are you talking about? The video implied clearly that in Europe such surveillance is illegal, no matter what you agree in an employment contract. Just like many other things are void even if they are written down. It's not just GDPR that governs privacy here, certainly for example the employer can't get data on users phone calls even if the company is paying for the phone and contract. If everything is agreeable by mutual consent in Europe too, then obviously the situation would be the same in EU and US: you can spy on your employees if they sign a contract that says this is allowed.

@seanmccann8368 Thick like people that think having something banned is more freedom? 🤦♂ Obviously the American system is more free when it allows this, while in other countries it might be illegal. That is pretty much the definition of freedom: allowing adults self decide their contractual terms without government intervention.

@Kristopher1999 Yeah you just get deported to El Salvador by accident and if you happen to be a foreign tourist teenager or a scientist that doesn't agree with maga, then it's deportation for you as well.

This is one thing I'm most surprised that is so outrageous but simply doesn't change. Like why don't the Americans care enough about high health care (insurance) costs and this scam that they keep electing politicians that don't end this scam with drug prices there? This is one of the most simplest forms of corruption / lobbying that affects very large amount of people yet nothing in the US ever changes. And it's not even just the drugs, but things like ambulance that can cost thousands of dollars. I even saw one news story about some American being charged over 100k for some emergency rabies vaccine or something like that in the ER. It's organized crime if I ever saw such.
