  5.  @maquacr7014  You are right, it's easy to see who is superior. According to Putin there is war with NATO, NATO casualties are almost 0 and Russian casualties are something like 600k. So not going that great so far for Russia.

Fact is NATO hasn't even started yet and if it ever gets involved in this war, Ukraine will be cleared of Russian troops in short order.

Why Russia keeps fighting is because they have dictator in power that has some traumas about the collapse of the Soviet Union and is trying to restore some empire because he got bored in his old days. All this talk that there would be some deeper strategic reasons to any of this are just nonsense, the reasons are sourced in the mind of 1 man. Russia could lose that gap and bunch of other territories without it being any existential threat to anything as they have more land and resources than they will ever need no matter if they lost such areas. There are countless countries that don't have such land masses and resources and still have been able to happily thrive and survive without starting pointless wars every decade.
