  1. If it's just 100m or so in diameter, why not just nuke it and turn it into gas / small pieces? Surely that size object would completely fit in the volume that our current weapons basically turn into a plasma ball? Additionally do it from the proper angle and the debris wouldn't even hit us.

  2. 1 nuke and the whole thing would be gas. We already have those, would be fairly simple to adapt them to target the meteor so don't know why we consider these other options.

  3. Just intercept it with a thermonuclear device, why waste time on anything else when we have plenty of those already and it would have a very high chance of success?

  4. 1 nuke is all it would take, I don't know why are we wasting time with such plans that have a higher chance of failing.

  5. I don't know why we are even thinking about these complicated options, when 1 thermonuclear device (that we have plenty already) would turn the whole problem into gas and make sure it would never be an issue to anyone on earth or rest of the universe.
