The information that tests disproportionally hurt the poor is false. It’s been demonstrated that how well kids do on exams is linked to average hours studied in the topic. White students typically study double blacks, and Asians double whites. Many first generation Asian families are very poor but quickly rise out of poverty by placing a premium on education. If you want to help kids, raise the standard, force them to meet it. Then they will be prepared for the world. Thomas Sowell has data about that as well, and he has his personal story of being pushed hard in Harlem because the teacher knew poor kids didn’t need you feeling bad for them, they needed the hard standards even more then rich kids.
