  2. Thomas Sowell talks about this a lot in his book migrations and cultures. Countries often time lash out at those with financial capital and social capital. It always hurts them in the end. Even if they somehow take a large chunk or all the wealth they still experience the brain drain by losing the people with the skills to create that wealth. Further they only get to spend the seized assets once where the person with the social capital would have continued to build wealth and provide new goods and services for the country.
