If you use the word purchase, you should own it. If they want to sell you on renting, they should say that you have to put an end date on the content. They know when their licenses for content expires. It should say rent the license through xxxx date. Purchase should mean you own it. That simple. Any type of lawyer jargon or anything hidden in the terms of service justifies piracy because at that point it’s just a battle of who can screw who. Companies should think long and hard if this is the relationship they want. I have never pirated, and have been against it up until now. I now think it’s almost correct approach in order to teach companies how to act. I had YouTube premium since I think around 2014. I got rid of it about six months ago for two reasons. I still haven’t seen an ad. Companies need to stop acting this way or they’ll turn more paying customers against them.
