On September 4th 2022, German businessman, Karl Peter Griesemann’s private jet crashed into the Baltic Sea off the coast of Latvia, having flown halfway across Europe from Spain whilst unresponsive to controllers’ calls, killing all on board. Flight tracking data showed that the Austrian registered Cessna 551 departed from southern Spain on Sunday afternoon, changed course at Paris and Cologne and then flew straight out to the Baltic Sea, before crashing.
