  15. I used to go with my grandmother to Tinker Air Force Base and they had Fox News on at the pharmacy waiting area, the BX, and even the goddamned Burger King on base. I once spent an hour and a half waiting for my grandmother's prescription to be filled being held hostage by Fox News's coverage of the funeral of Michael Jackson. Felt like I needed a shower after that.

If my 9-year-old nephew showed me pictures of himself as a superhero, an astronaut, and a firefighter, I'd say it was cute and creative. Happened on camera, and he just looked like, "oh, someone bumped into me!" Later said he didn't realize he was attacked until he saw the video. Giuliana is like that but in reverse. Also reminds me of that woman in some public hearing that got tapped on the back of the head with a folder and pulled a soccer flop to end all soccer flops, falling out of her chair dramatically, squalling like she just got punched.

They always borrow the accomplishments of people who did great things but also happened to be white, as if simply sharing their skin color means they're the same.   37. Media's job was never to present both sides and walk away. It's to break things down, try to gather as much useful information as possible and present only what is verifiably true. If you're "both sidesing" an issue, you're failing hard as a journalist. If you're only representing one side and ignoring the other or dismissing the other, you're a propagandist. Media is meant to be a bulwark against state lies and propaganda, not a delivery system for it.

  42. I will disagree with you about us having a functional democracy. We have a thoroughly dysfunctional democracy. It's held together with duct tape and chewing gum. In a way, we owe Donald Trump a debt of gratitude for showing us just how broken and dysfunctional it really is. He should be punished severely, jail time at worst. Hanging would be fitting for a man who committed treason and insurrection, and those gallows would need to be very wide to accommodate all his conspirators in congress.
