  1. The religious right believe they have the right to do whatever they want and use religion as an excuse for terrible behavior. Jesus was about kindness and compassion, someone following him would be the same. They aren't followers of Jesus, they just fanboys and fangirls. I think if Jesus were real and here right now, he'd be weeping tears of blood for all the hate and evil done in his name.

  3.  @cireenasimcox1081  The American religious right have been indoctrinated with the mythology of the United States being founded as a Christian nation by people who are as hardcore Christian as they are or are the ones propagating said myth. They actually believe they have the right to push whatever religious ideology they have on people because of that propaganda. Most of the founding fathers were nonbelievers, deists (not believing in a personal God or in Jesus but believing that some sort of god or godlike being created the universe), or were outright atheists. Thomas Jefferson actually freaking edited the Bible to remove all miracles and claims of divinity, but sure, this is a "Christian Nation." I'm glad you lived in more decent places than here.
