  1. To be fair, most people's legal understanding typically comes from fiction. While Twelve Angry Men is a wonderful movie and superbly acted by all the actors in it, it IS a completely fictional trial and a completely fictional jury. Real life is rarely so exciting or compelling. I mean, most your court procedural TV shows skip all the boring parts of a trial for the exciting parts, and while they aren't typically making up the law in those shows, they are making up how people react in those shows.
