It started with Nixon. He had only one consequence, and that was giving up the presidency. That wasn't enough. He needed a full investigation and to be held accountable. Gerald Ford royally screwed up and screwed us all by pardoning Nixon. There weren't consequences that mattered. Politics went severely downhill after that. This former president, quite frankly, should have swung by his neck until dead, the prescribed punishment for treason. Every day he breathes free air is a day of justice stolen writ large from the American people.
