The greatest thing to happen to the Republican party in my lifetime was Fox News. The decline of Republican ideology and ability to function in the real world is also caused by Fox News. Fox News gave them a large propaganda network which gave them undo political power, but it also totally atrophied their ability to make cogent arguments and made them intellectually and politically lazy. If things keep going the way they have been, Fox News will inevitably be the downfall of the Republican party.
